Were schools shut in Tampa most of the week? If not, I don't get why they would cancel/reschedule Friday's games.

County AD makes bad decisions... They were out Tuesday but could practice Monday if they wanted.

Don't know how many folks on this forum live in Marion County and surrounding and/or are interested in the teams, but if so you may want to know that the Mount Dora @ Trinity Catholic game has been rescheduled from Friday to Saturday at 10 AM at Celtic field. Maybe some of the other Marion County teams had their games cancelled or rescheduled to other days. Their fans should come on down and watch the revitalized Celtics under Coach Thomas. Mount Dora is a high scoring 5A team and should pose a pretty good test.  B)

Lol.  Mount Dora has 21 players and this game should not be close.

Actually 26 players. But, whose counting. They must be some pretty good players because they scored 27 in a losing cause against 8A East Ridge and 46 in a winning cause against 7A South Lake. So, don't think the Celtics will take them lightly. However, I do get your point and that a 5A school should have at least 50 to 60 players. Don't know why they only have 26.

So how did that great game go and I saw them play a game and they had 21 dressed.  I can count to 21 well i actually just counted 10 on the sidelines that was easier. They might have had a few more since they had no JV game when you saw them

I counted 26 at the game. They are not a bad team although I thought, given how much they scored in their past games, that they would score more than 8 points. Game ended 35-8 Trinity. I believe we had a running clock as I left at the half when the score was 35-0. If we defeat South Sumter on Friday then I will believe the Celtics are for real.

They moved up 5 JV players because JV game got canceled on Thursday because of hurricane.  If you get a running clock on you by half I wouldn’t say you are a good team.  The game vs South Sumter should be a good one.  If it is at south Sumter i might go

    • Vero will be down a little from last season, they lost a lot from that team, but it should still be a good game.
    • "Listen here, y'all... back in '72 runnin' Overtown streets, we ain't had no transfer portal. You repped your hood school or sat the bench. Coach look at you cross-eyed for even dreamin' 'bout switchin' for better lights. Noimsayin?   Now here come Coach Toro Wallace—dude was slicin' defenses at Chaminade-Madonna like butter last year—takes the helm at Miami Carol City. Respect the move. But word on the street? Damn near 40 kids floodin' in already? Forty? That's a whole charter bus unloadin' at practice, helmets in hand!   Got that elite 5-star ATH Nick Lennear (boy catch anything not nailed down) makin' the Zuu his new home as the centerpiece. Then young gun QB Malik Leonard (2029 class) jumps from Chaminade right behind his old OC. More comin', whispers of 4-stars and sleepers pilin' up. Man, it's like that time in '05 I chased this fine dancer from Tootsie's—looked like a sure thing on the pole, spent my whole paycheck... next mornin' she ghosted with my rent money. Same vibe: all flash, no guarantee.   FHSAA droppin' Open Division '26, pullin' top 8 into that kill-or-be-killed bracket. All this stackin' just gon' sling Carol City straight into the meat grinder. Then boom—openin'-round exit, packin' gear while everybody else celebrates. Greed and gluttony, straight sin-eatin' like that movie scene. I'd bet my last Publix paycheck on it... wait, nah, Karen already cussed me out today over expired coupons. Bookie got the rest anyway.   Love me some Florida high school ball more than a cold one after shift. But this? Hilarious in that 'I told you so' Ron White way. Y'all think the Zuu revivin' glory days, or just buyin' a quick hype ticket that busts?Spot me $20 on 'em to at least make noise... or not. Either way, popcorn ready. What say y'all?"
    • Yessir I would love for us to play a OOS opponent in the Broward vs USA,  dillard got in alot of talent and will be Huge in da trenches this upcoming season. And most of all our SOS. those 3 games alone can possibly have us the #1 in 3A especially since we were 10-0 last year and finished the 3 seed
    • Are you serious? Jeez. That’s crazy. MNW of them seems like they are imploding.    Carol City is a 5 time state champion winning titles in 4 different decades  And if Dillard is in the Broward challenge they should get a decent opponent too.    Definitely a huge upgrade. Might entice some local talent. Lol
    • Carol city hired the chaminade guru coach Toro as their head coach and have received over 40 transfers already , including the two five stars from miami northwestern,  atleast 7 transfers from miami central and 10+ from chaminade.
