I think OSL was talking about high school games involving teams who might be playing in the state playoffs.

(2-1) Hillsborough at (4-0) Steinbrenner 

Steinbrenner has the 3rd highest scoring offense in the state and the longest active 8a win streak at 8 games.

 

Hillsborough has plenty of speed and talent on both sides of the ball.

 

Will be the first varsity meeting between the teams (Steinbrenner JV won by 1 score last year). Steinbrenner Coach Andres Perez began his coaching career at Hillsborough under Earl Garcia. 

Excepting a great football game.

Hillsborough lost by 30 to TBT.  If Steinbrenner is as good as we have hear then this shouldn't be a close game.

7A District 1 is arguably the toughest in the state.  The Lincoln vs Niceville matchup this week should be huge.  Lincoln has already defeated Navarre.  If Lincoln beats Niceville, they should be in the driver's seat to win the district, assuming they can beat Crestview (who was just defeated by Niceville in district play).

I know opinions differ about district size, but I like it when there are meaningful district games earlier in the season.  7A-D1 has 7 teams, so we are already seeing big district matchups.

I think the Armwood, Tech, Wiregrass district is pretty brutal as well. 

 

Currently Laz has:

Tampa Bay Tech #4 in the state  #1 in region

Armwood #5 in the state  #2 in region

Wiregrass Ranch #71 in the state #5 in region

 

Not sure any of them can beat Lakeland but it is going to be an exciting playoffs

last season's 2A champion coming down to Ocala for a visit this Friday. Should be very interesting as NFC is always a very tough team no matter what class. The Celtics better be ready.
