Centennial coaches embarrass their program @Lakeland

Centennial's coaches pulled the team out of the line it was forming to shake hands with Lakeland following the game. This can be seen at the 2:45:00 mark. This stunt occurred a couple of hours after one of Centennial's coaches had to be restrained extensively in charging a game official. This can be seen at 0:49:45. The Eagles got a late score during the running clock to close to a 42-6 drubbing. Embarrassing.

the ref handled that great.  The Miramar coach got ejected and suspended 3 months for something very similar.

Agreed.   Without being able to hear a word, you could tell that the coach was upset and just trying to protect his QB and you could tell the ref realized this and was actually somewhat understanding.   Good bit of officiating to let the coach blow off some steam and nice job by the Centennial players and assistant coaches to step in between the head coach and the ref. 

As for the no handshake, it appeared that the game got a little chippy towards the end (what blowout doesn't?) and one of the Lakeland linemen (#53 perhaps) can be seen jawing over at the Centennial bench right before the game ends.   That said, it also appeared that both teams had settled down and were going to be able to shake it up without incident.   I'd be curious to know if the Centennial coach offered any explanation as to why he directed his players to head to the locker room/bus.  Perhaps he had heard the announcements about the band performing after the game (instead of at halftime because of homecoming festivities) and couldn't wait to hear them play.

yeah I saw the same.  Lakeland kids were also jawing when Centennial didn't shake hands. #2 for Centennial also looked like he wasn't having it and talking trash.  Coach probably thought it was best to just not shake hands so nothing bad happened.

You can see Lakeland #53 jawing at the sideline, you can see Lakeland #67 (at 2:45) talking what looks like angrily at a teferee if we are going to call out others. The reality is that I trust the coaches to know their teams, if the coach felt that a handshake line could be an explosive situation than the best thing to do is tell his assistants to corral the team, go shake the head coaches' hand and move on.

That was certainly unsportsmanlike conduct by that Centennial Coach. Once again,  how can the high school children be expected to act in a civil matter when the "adult" coaches cannot?
