If Gaither doesn’t at minimum keep the game close all 4 quarters then you know they were a fraud with an easy schedule.

Hillsborough is having a historically bad year with Armwood being the only one who can sniff a playoff run. And they had a eye popping terrible loss to an inferior team.

Gaither needs to make a statement that there is at least 2 teams that can make a run.

That's a lie.

Eye popping terrible loss to an inferior team? C'mon man! That lose was a 2OT road game at the #5 team in the state of Georgia. That's just a nonsense comment.

He does that on purpose. He knows North Gwinnett is a very good football team.

Wrong. Armwood was supposed to roll. They were clearly the head and shoulders favorite against this second rate team. Armwood lost because Georgia is has light years better coaching, and was able to prove it.

I was wondering about that same comment. Had it not been for a KOR for a TD then Armwood would've lost by at least 10. If you haven't seen the game, then you should watch it. It was dominated by North Gwinnett. Also, they're #31 in the country haha

Should be an interesting matchup. I'm kinda hoping it's Clearwater rather than Largo but I think it will be a good matchup either way.

Largo would be the easier matchup... Clearwaters offense is dangerous... Largo has no offense but a superb defense.  Clearwater lost to Largo but if they play again I got Clearwater in the rematch after watching the way the game went.  It was 2 big plays for Largo that were the difference that were very flukish.

I know that Rent Montie kid has been putting up big numbers in the passing game for the Tornadoes. I think I'd probably take CLW in the rematch as well, depending on the conditions.

Nolebull813, it seems like you have a serious axe to grind.  What's up?

He doesn't really... He just generally thinks most teams that don't play on the national or statewide (top teams) level suck to a degree... its not Gaither he really says the same thing about a lot of schools... oh yeah he did go to Wharton lol.

I'm not sure Lakeland has the #1 seed locked up at all. Armwood could still get it as the value of Lakeland's win over Kathleen is worth almost zilch.  They were separated by 7.20 vs 7.19. Being undefeated should carry more weight than it does but an Armwood win over an undefeated Gaither may do the trick for Armwood.

Now if you guys can beat them..............

Yeah i had that all wrong. Armwood now holds the 1 seed with a .714 vs Lakeland's .707. And you were right Legion37, the win over Kathleen dropped their RPI as did Armwoods win over Eastbay.

Well if you beat them then all will be right with the world!

You would think being undefeated would give a team a boost. But frankly we will play them wherever they are, assuming we both get that far.

SOS. Armwood played a bunch of 8*2, 7-3 type teams, and traveled to N. Gwinett.

Agreed. Should be the game of the year in Florida HS football, unless the winner of that game faces undefeated STA in the championship game with a Geico birth on the line.

FL team still has an outside chance at a NC if Mater Dei loses (which is doubtful) and if the FL team can defeat an undefeated GA champ in the Geico bowl.

Well this team has a better defense in many ways. The FG kicking game is not as good but has been adequate but really hasn't been needed. This team has a better QB at passing even if we haven't seen it in every game. The back up QB started the season won several games and has looked very good as well. Bowman is Bowman even with sitting out two games. This team seems to grind it out more than last years which tended to hit  (made a living on) more big plays with Bowman and others ( he has had them this year but they just seem to efficently plod along on drives). It makes their offense seem less dynamic even though it is plenty dynamic.

Running clocks, long time consuming drives and not needing to score and really crappy weather has cause the 2nd halves of games to be almost entirely non scoring affairs (Kathleen was called at the half).

I think this years team is pretty comparable to last years with the biggest drop off being FG kicking.

We await round 1. What happens from there we will see when it comes.

Armwood had a strip 6 in the 2nd quarter. 7-0 at half time. Gaither turned the ball over on our 15 i think. Armwood QB runs it in for a TD a play later. Final 14-0. I dont think Armwood had a 1st down in the 1st half.

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
