The Colts top RB Gilmore, after scoring the Colt's first TD, went out with an injury and never returned. That was half of their offense right there. They managed to survive. Columbia has a roster of 63 so losing a couple of players should not be that big of a deal. I don't know why people just can't give the 5A Colts credit for going up to Lake City and defeating the 6A Tigers fare and square.

You make it sound like North Marion playing with a roster of 30

The roster difference (generally) between a 5a and 6a school isn't that large

Looks like they may be headed back to the "Backyard" next week.  Not a good sign for first round survival.

If that's what happens it's the best shot

Out of the options (Lee or Mainland) the easier matchup is definitely Lee

Remember in the first matchup Columbia had 4 turnovers and had they not fumbled at the 10 yard line with under a minute they could have kicked a game winning field goal

Lee is not very strong this year, while Columbia has finished the season cold as ice they are more than capable of beating Lee

Y’all are 1-3 in y’all last 4 right ? And have to go on the road next week ...sheesshhh

We were gonna have to travel regardless

And honestly after the crap that happened at the end of the game I'm glad our home games are done for the year

Some parent can't charge the sideline on those road stadiums like they can in Lake City

Well probably because we ain't playing a Lake Wales schedule loaded with pretty weak teams

Kid stop sounding like a broke legged puppy and find a way to help your beloved Tigers get better.

No one dislikes Columbia, just stating the facts. And FACTS don't have feelings.

p.s. LWales RPI > Columbia RPI... and 5A > 6A this year.

You want facts?

Let's compare schedules since those are facts

Columbia

5-5 TCA
7-3 Oakleaf
1-8 AA Christian
7-2 Pine Forest
2-8 Gainesville
8-2 Madison County
7-3 Lee
6-3 Atlantic
3-7 Middleburg
8-2 North Marion

Lake Wales

2-8  Kathleen
3-7 Ridge Community
0-10 Haines City
1-9 Mulberry
5-5 Clewiston
6-4 Lely
5-5 Hardee
6-4 Sebring
3-7 Lake region
5-5 Bartow

Columbia faced only 3 teams below .500, 2 of them were district games (Gainesville and Middleburg)

Lake Wales faced 5 teams below .500 and didn't face any team with more than 6 wins while Columbia faced 5 teams with 7 or more wins, winning 3 of them

Columbia also defeated 2 teams who may very well win a state title, 1a Madison and 3a TCA, both by double digits

Any of those Lake Wales opponents gonna win a title? LMAO

How's that for facts

it's really not important whether Columbia is better than Lake Wales or the reverse; their in different classes, so they won't meet in playoffs. Higher number classes have larger student populations to draw from, so they should have more athletes. Beating a 1A and 3A champion is hardly anything to throw out there as a great achievement. The question is "why are they even paying these small schools? Most schools looking to enhance their reputation play up, not way down. I was pulling for Columbia because North Marion is in our 5A region playoffs; Columbia blew it.

We play teams because they good, not because they a large school, us go scheduling someone like Kathleen just because they bigger does nothing for us

Not to mention the fact that many so called "powers" won't even play us, we got to play who will actually agree to schedule us

Columbia didn't blow anything. North Marion was obviously the better team on Friday and defeated them fair and square.

North Marion is in a very good 5A, Region 2 that includes Jones, Dunnelion, Citrus, Vanguard, and Bishop Moore. It should be a very competitive region with Jones as the favorite.

Citrus is falling apart internally and fired their coach about a week or 2 ago

Would be surprised if they make it past round 1

Citrus finished 9-1, losing to a Nature Coast team they should have beat. That allowed a 5-5 NC to win their district. That should never have happened. I wasn't aware they lost their coach, but they still should have beat NC. They may get lucky and draw the team fro St Augustine in the first round. If they face anyone else, they should go down.
