FINAL DILLARD 48 LELY 6

Recommended Posts

Ugly ugly ugly win for my panthers I don’t know what food they ate for pregame but they came in half dead obviously not respecting their opponent nor taking them seriously.

the refs was atrocious for a home game they flagged Dillard over 8 times in the first 6 mins of play; & basically drove Lely down the field for their one & only score.

takeaways: we got to be more discipline got to cut out the interceptions & the penalties && our D line & o line need to wake the hell up & realize they have the advantage.

Lely coaching staff came in & threw the sink at Dillard with all types of things pretty much what you expect from a severe underdog.

nonetheless Dillard got the Dub & continued their historic start moving to (11-0) winning 48-6 in a game where they played no where near Thur potential ...time to get back to the drawing board for next week LETSSSS GOOOO!!

Congrats on the win. The score was about what I thought it would be. At least you scored often despite the sloppy play.

Yea but if we wanna keep making history we can’t play like that as the rounds progress but we’re in the second round for the first time since 2013 were hosting a 2nd round game for the first time in 3 decades & were (11-0) so I’m excited

This-is-Dillard, could you be more specific? What problems did you have with the officials?

It was very 1 sided they were giving Lely all the momentum in the beginning calling penalties that wasn’t penalties but when Lely were actually cloth lining & roughing the passer is they held the whistle

I'm almost as excited for Dillard as I am for my Celtics. :)  However, everyone has to realize that the referees have no preference for one team or another. In all cases the refs are never from the school districts that they work and especially during the playoffs. I never blame the refs for my team incurring infractions. The only thing that could possibly be said is that very rarely a group of referees will decide to govern tightly by the rule book and it will seem that they are throwing flags all over the place. In that case they may seem to be taking their job too seriously (actually IMO I like it when they do as it teaches young people discipline). We have to realize that the referees pretty much do their job for charity and because they love the game. In that respect they have a huge responsibility to maintain order on the playing field so that the game is played fairly and that no player gets injured. Let us all be appreciative of these men that give up their time to not only train as referees but to travel to where these games may be played.

I wonder how the officials could "give" a team momentum over the other? Are you suggesting that the officials were actively trying to help Lely stay in the game? Do you think that most officials care who wins a high school football game? Also, I wonder what "cloth lining" is? It is a good thing that the officials "held the whistle" when a potential foul occurred, since no penalty causes a live ball to be dead.
