First Round Results - Was RPI Worth It?

Below are 5A-8A teams that survived the first round who were not district champions.  Teams in bold were not district runners-up.  4 "RPI system teams" made it past the first round.  So was all of the fuss really worth it?  By the way, the results of the last system we used were similar.  

 

8A-R3 Treasure Coast (district runner-up)

8A-R4 Miami (district runner-up)

7A-R1 Lincoln (3rd place in district)

7A-R2 Bloomingdale (district runner-up)

7A-R2 Tampa Bay Tech (district runner-up)

7A-R3 Venice (district runner-up)

7A-R4 Plantation (district runner-up)

6A-R1 Columbia (district runner-up)

6A-R2 Clearwater (district runner-up)

6A-R3 Port Charlotte (district runner-up)

6A-R3 Charlotte (3rd place in district)

5A-R1 Godby (tied for district runner-up)

5A-R2 Vanguard (district runner-up)

5A-R2 North Marion (3rd place in district)

5A-R3 Atlantic (4th place in district)

5A-R3 Chamberlain (district runner-up)

5A-R4 Killian (district runner-up)

Of the 18 teams in the original post, only 4 remain.  And only one of those...Charlotte...is an "RPI team."   So, all of the fuss over RPI, and it is still pretty much the district champions and a handful of others playing for regional titles.

      Complaining about North Florida slappies losing to South Florida powers is like someone graduating high school complaining that companies are only hiring college graduates and not them. And then a company saying ok to make it fair, we will open division and only hire high school graduates.

      First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems.       They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
