I think if they did, it would probably break DLS record.....the steak started in 2013 and Vero kept winning despite an increase in scheduling.....So if Vero can keep on winning into 2023 making it a decade for the regular season, would that be incredible to y'all???

For starters you all wouldn't break DLS record since their record was I believe 13 years and their streak included playoffs

DLS winning streak lasted from 1992 to the beginning of 2004 season and included playoffs, 151 straight wins

Even if you want to say regular season the streak is still several years out for Vero Beach but if you want to talk about the streak maybe at least get to 150 regular season wins first if you gonna choose to ignore the importance of playoffs to the streak

Someday yall will be added to the streak and it'll make up ass even more salty

Not until you all grow the stones to play a home and home with us

And by salty you mean honest? You want Vero Beach to be mentioned alongside nationally elite programs but you have to twist the data to make it sound more impressive

This past year was the perfect example of this, you all played 2 road games the entire regular season (both were district games)

That is the definition of safe scheduling but you want to ignore the fact that the streak by DLS included PLAYOFFS but because you know that completely destroys your argument you got to rely on "well Columbia lost to this or that" or "you being salty"

it's called being honest

You all upped the schedule but your schedule still don't come close to what several elite teams have played and this past year showed how careful you all scheduled by ensuring every at risk game was at home

You don't get to say you all could beat anybody but then will only play them at home

Ik Columbia would play any team in the nation if they come to Lake City but I'm not sitting here every day bragging about it or saying we would beat these state and national elites because we beat a few decent teams in a home environment that is built up to myth proportions

Vero is a solid team but this need to brag about a regular season streak and trying to compare it to DLS 12 year undefeated streak and state championship streak is laughable, a regular season streak like Vero has is impressive but not even close to same ballpark as DLS

honestly the BTW streak from 2012-2015 was far more impressive IMO considering the level of teams they beat during that streak

Listen whenever Vero get a new team on our schedule, it is predicted that Vero will lose, three years in a row it was said we will lose, Oscar Smith 2017, Venice 2018, and Chaminade 2019 and guess what they won them all

And beating those 3 somehow makes their winning streak in the same tier as a team who went undefeated for 12 years and won state year after year those years

They aren't, in any way, shape or form, in the running for DLS's record. DLS's record was ALL games, not merely regular season games followed by early playoff exits.

Schedule IMG St. Thomas or a team from Miami and see how Veros winning streak does, until then I’ll have no respect for Vero being a fools gold team in the regular season.

Vero beach is always in the mix when it comes to state rankings. They have even beefed up their schedule big time from years past. Vero most definitely has the athlets but they still lose in the 2nd round(except for this past season they made it to the 3rd). I believe the issue is the other teams they are playing are just tougher up front(D-line and O-line) when it comes to the 2nd and 3rd round of the class 8A playoffs. They just dont seem to have that "want to" in the trenches. Speaking from experience, you have to have that "want to" to be great.

    • Agree with what you think mostly, except I'd use a 4 year average and only move the top team in each region up and bottom team in each region down based on that average. I think 4 years gives a better overall picture of a program.
    • What this means is we will soon see one of two scenarios play out in the coming years: 1) A subset of students will eventually not be able to attend a "good" school because there is simply no space for them due to there being a scarcity of "good" schools 2) Assuming compulsory attendance remains a thing, we will see longtime elite private high schools nosedive in performance. The schools can not perform magic: unmotivated, unprepared often defiant students will NOT be good students no matter what the school does/doesn't do. And oftentimes these sorts of students do have parents who will do the absolute bare minimum needed to get the kid into a private school through the new rules. Anyone who genuinely believes that the schools with higher test scores automatically do a better job of teaching the kids than schools with lower scores is an imbecile.
    • Here’s a scenario that will cook your noodle. There’s an 11th grader at a D rated public school. Lives in a bad neighborhood with a single mom and a bunch of siblings. Dirt poor, and struggle just to eat and keep the lights on. He can’t get a part time job to help out because he has to watch his little siblings while his mom works.    The school he plays for has poor attendance at the football games, and is always bad. He is a super star for them and tons of new bandwagon fans start to attend the games because they are good and he is the reason. School is making tons of new money.    Season is over. Back to reality for him. School year is over. Summer hits. Some “runner” on behalf of the rich local private school “offers” his mom, him, and all his siblings a way out of poverty. New place to live, food on the table, and an opportunity to get a quality education and maximize exposure for all the top colleges to see. A once in a lifetime opportunity to get his family out of poverty. What say you? Does he say no and continue to barely survive, or does he take the deal?
    • To make it short and sweet. I am against breaking the rules. If there is a rule that seems outdated or unfair then it should be amended/changed/repealed with majority rule
    • I am a huge proponent of innocent until proven guilty, and due process with credible evidence. I support a credible investigation, and not some witch hunt by disgruntled folks both near and far from the program. Let’s hope they can get to the bottom of this quickly
