CAI beat Atlantic last year too but I heard they took a hit on the roster tho.....

Yeah they gonna recuirt from Canada to reload. And Madison still gonna beat them again. It's really sad when you recuirt players from other countries and still lose.

Pie in the sky, football won’t be played this year most likely. They can’t risk fans and players getting infected over a game.

Honestly, I think it all depends.   I'll try to keep politics out of this discussion, but here's the way I see it.   For the states like Georgia that "reopen for business" before all the others, one of two things is going to happen:  either it's going to work out really well for them (and everyone can say that we, as a nation, all overreacted to Covid-19) or it's going to work out really poorly (if cases/deaths start spiking and the state is forced to shut down completely again).   If it works out well for the trailblazer states, other states can then afford to be more aggressive with their reopening plans.   If it works out poorly, we can probably kiss sports goodbye until 2021.

If all goes well in Georgia, and there are no spikes the rest of this month or in May, I can see Florida reopening by June, in which case I can see football in the fall (the later the better).   Clearly, that's the 'glass is half full' approach, and perhaps I'm thinking that way because I already drank the first half.  ;)

If football is played this year, here’s how I think the season will play out..

Starting the season playing Clearwater is going to be tough. They are a mini IMG with a good defense, Vero is going to have trouble but it could go either way at the Citrus Bowl.

Fort Lauderdale is a solid but not particularly special team, Vero should have a win here.

I know Venice is my team and I will always defend them. Bias aside, Vero Beach won’t beat Venice on the road with all of their key players and Coach Peacock. We are a solid, good team coming back and I don’t see a Vero victory again, sorry.

Wasn’t Minneola a canceled game last year? Vero should trample them, easy victory here.

Hardee reminds me a lot of Fort Lauderdale, they’ve had a turnaround over the last few years but struggle in the playoffs. Vero Should win this game without much trouble.

Centennial can’t be pleased about the past few years of getting dominated by Vero so they will bring it. Don’t know if revenge match will produce different results, this one could go either way but I would favor Centennial.

A week 7 bye is a good week two have it, coming off a brutal district matchup.

Chaminade Madonna is not representative of South Florida football, their offense isn’t built to score 30+ points a game. Vero victory.

Treasure Coast, my goodness. They have to feel robbed after a one point loss last year. The result should be the same, since the game is at The Citrus Bowl, but it’s gonna be a dogfight.

FP Central is a joke. Not much to see here... Vero should win by 14+

I don’t feel that Viera has the talent to compete with Vero.

As a Vero fan, I can say this, don’t expect much from them this season, it looks to be a down year.  I hope I’m surprised, but offensively they will struggle mightily unless they get some transfers in over the summer.

Defensively they return some key players, but in their district you have to be able to score often if you hope to win.

I can see Vero losing 4+ games this season and potentially not making the playoffs.

Just curious, but what games in particular do you see as being losses for Vero Beach? I understand that they always play well In the regular season but exit quickly in the playoffs.

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I don’t believe in calling teams “down”. Just because they have less success one year doesn’t mean their season is indicative of past decades of success. They might go undefeated, or lose a few games, but Vero always seems to surprise people. We’ll see I suppose.

I could see Vero losing the following: Clearwater, Venice, Chaminade, Treasure Coast, and potentially losing to Centennial and Lake Minneola. All the teams mentioned were playoff teams last season (as was Viera) except Clearwater for obvious reasons.

Clearwater is better than most people give credit for, and Centennial and Treasure Coast are NOT going to be happy about past years. And PLEASE y’all won’t beat Venice on the road when we have our head coach and running back.

In other words, like a JV game?    B)

Hey, if it comes down to a choice between football games with no fans, no band and no cheerleaders or no football at all, I'll gladly take the fan-less games.

where im from, my 6 fans already practice social distancing.. I will be glad to at least play fall football. my bottom feeder program will finally rise may take many years to make it happen. We have the drive and arent looking to take the latest greatest jobs to further the coaches careers. We want to bring success to a team that has been traditionally horrible   won 4 games last year most in 19 years. may win less this year but the right answer is there. should be independent.   guess which program in central florida this is!

What your all forgetting, Vero has coach Jankowski, who puts it all together every so called "down year". Our defense will be very strong, and I mean strong.  On offense we have our starting running back McMillian back with a couple of good wide receivers. We just need that mysterious quarterback to walk on the field. I have not followed the JV quarterbacks, so I don't know what we have coming up the ranks.

That’s what I’m saying, but Vero Beach is still going to struggle with Venice and Clearwater this year. I still see you guys having a good year, but that regular season streak will certainly end.

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
    • Are you still talking to me??  Thought I was pretty clear for you not to waste your breath on this subject matter, but somehow you are missing the point.  Teacher unions have limited power in FL because the candidates they overwhelming support keep losing.  If they had won, the teacher union vote had a lot to do with it and would be wielding that power.  Osceola county which isn't a GOP stronghold during the past two national elections had the journalism students for the OHS monthly newsletter (Kowboy Jake) interview the faculty as to their political leanings.  A sample of about 30 teachers that were interviewed were voting as follows:  25 D vs 5 R.  Enough said.
    • You missed the point of my union post. Teacher unions in strong union states have power. Florida unions have zero. They cant strike and the school board can implement a contract without the unions approval. Florida unions are not preventing any raise in Florida. The state has attacked a straw man here.
