A Seminole County Classic Video

Seminole and Lake Howell face off in an old school classic from 1987.  Future Heisman candidate and Pro Bowler Jeff Blake led Seminole at qb.  And a freshman rb (#23) on Lake Howell, Marquette Smith, gave us a glimpse of great things to come.

Seminole made it to the 4A state semifinals that year, where they got thumped by eventual state champion Godby in Tallahassee.  It took Seminole 21 years to get that far in the playoffs again.

Yes, but the next time they did, they won the ship!

Lake Howell probably hasn't been good since Marquette Smith.  They did have Brandon Marshall in the early 2000's but I don't think they were very good then either

They were not. Had a few good basketball teams, though, including a state title. I am also pretty sure they have been decent in several other sports (maybe golf or soccer).

Lake Howell also has a very nice stadium and facility.

It is hard to believe that the seniors and juniors in this game are now 50 or above. Life is short.

It's crazy how short it is.  Seems like forever when you are young.  Then you turn 25 and the next week you are 50.
