Great Comeback Teams of the Playoffs-Glades Central '98

This team, on its way to a state title, won all five of its playoff games by coming from behind to win.  In the state semifinals, this team was down by 11 points to the top-ranked team in the state with only 3 minutes left, and scored 22 points to win the game in front of a home crowd.  In one of the more memorable state finals, this team was down by 2 TD's in Gainesville with 8 minutes left to play.  They scored 2 TD's, but missed both conversion attempts, leaving them behind by 2 points.  Their defense held, but they got the ball back on their own three yard line with 1:30 to play.  Their qb, who had one of the more productive passing performances for a qb in a state final, marched his team down the field and hit a Hail Mary to win it.

1. Who was this great comeback team?

2. Who did they beat in the state final?

3. Who was that qb?

Bonus question: That qb is the uncle of a great FL hs running back.  Who?

Dang, that one took some work!

In 1998, Glades Central scored 3 TDs in the final 6:41 (including the Hail Mary in the closing seconds) to beat Madison County 33-28 for the 4A Championship.  So, yes, there was a time when Madison County was in 4A.

The QB for Glades Central was Jerry Campbell, who is the uncle of former Galdes Day RB Kelvin Taylor, who also is the son of former Gator/Jaguar, Fred Taylor.

At least that's what I was able to find.

It is the 1998 Glades Central team.  This was their first of three state titles between 1998-2000.  That #1-ranked team they beat in the semis was Miami Monsignor Pace.  Jerry Campbell was their qb and lit up the Madison County secondary for 301 yards.  And he is the uncle of Kelvin Taylor.

Don't bring this up. Jessie says that Madison County never loses.
