States That Produce the Most HOF RB's

Sorry...Florida produces a lot of great backs, but only one HOF'er...Emmitt Smith.  Historically, a number of other states have produced more HOF'ers.  California leads the pack, followed by Texas and Pennsylvania.  The shocker in the bunch for some of you is likely Kansas(Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers and John RIggins).   From a per capita standpoint, Kansas easily wins, with 3 HOF'ers and one of the smaller populations amongst the states.

Take a look at a map.  That 350-mile corridor of I-35 between Wichita and Dallas, passes right by Okahoma U and OK St.  You just know that whole stretch is loaded with good football teams/players.   States like Kansas and Nebraska have small populations that are spread out(meaning lots of smaller high schools), so they are not going to produce the big name schools and players like a Texas.

Frank Gore is number three all time in rushing yards. 

 Gotta be a lock

 Fred Taylor has to make it too. 

 Top 20 all-time in rushing yards. Ahead of hall of famers John Riggins and OJ Simpson. 

 And he had a much better yards per carry average than both of them.  Much better. 

 In fact only three players that are in the top 20 in rushing yards all time have a better ypc than Taylor. (Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Adrian Peterson)

 Fred Taylor only had 379 less rushing yards all time then hall of famer Thurman Thomas. 

 On 343 LESS carries.
