How many teams are even considered part of the treasure Coast

It's not exactly a very huge area at least that I could tell

There are 4 counties: Okeechobee, Martin, St Lucie, Indian River, the schools that field a football team are below.

Okeechobee:

Okeechobee HS

Martin:

Martin County HS

South Fork HS

Jensen Beach HS

St Lucie
Port St Lucie HS

Centennial HS

Treasure Coast HS

Fort Pierce Central HS

Fort Pierce Westwood HS

John Carroll HS (Private)

Indian River:

Vero Beach HS

Sebastian River HS

St Edwards HS (Private)

Yes,it's called the FHSAA.they forced us to play local area teams only. No traveling in or out of the Treasure Coast!!!

So, I was just joking around (suggesting that someone caused the whole coronavirus pandemic just to help keep a high school team's regular season home winning streak alive).   That said, your response has me wondering:  how could/did the FHSAA force any school to play local area teams only?  Unless they put you in a 10-team district.   Otherwise, I wasn't aware that the FHSAA really had any control over scheduling.   I was under the impression that scheduling was handled on a county-by-county basis.   Again, just curious.

I believe he's referring to FHSAA's inability to reach a consensus or render a decision which has left us all in limbo.  I applaud the Treasure Coast schools. At least they have a plan.  Everyone else needs to follow suit because FHSAA is too slow.

Not only do you have the FHSAA influencing scheduling but you have SMAC beating the FHSAA over the head. I hate to bring up politics but this is how the US Congress has been working. The FHSAA is a minature version of congress

For this year, Treasure Coast teams will only play each other, so it is very likely you will see some old-school matchups like VB vs Martin County etc..   Hey, its the way things used to be anyway.  Shoot, Brevard County teams are only playing within Brevard County....much larger county with plenty of schools to do so.

I don't care...I just want to line up correctly against someone.  Lets roll with this.

    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
    • Are you still talking to me??  Thought I was pretty clear for you not to waste your breath on this subject matter, but somehow you are missing the point.  Teacher unions have limited power in FL because the candidates they overwhelming support keep losing.  If they had won, the teacher union vote had a lot to do with it and would be wielding that power.  Osceola county which isn't a GOP stronghold during the past two national elections had the journalism students for the OHS monthly newsletter (Kowboy Jake) interview the faculty as to their political leanings.  A sample of about 30 teachers that were interviewed were voting as follows:  25 D vs 5 R.  Enough said.
