A lot of people are being forced to make hard decisions around Covid-19. You have to put your family's safety first, I commend the coach.

Definitely and I'll add something to this that I know from being a volunteer at Football for 3 years

This man is a workaholic big time, he goes to church Sunday morning then goes Sunday afternoon up to the fieldhouse and encourages any player who wants to show up to go watch film

I know this wasn't an easy decision but one thing he has preached since day one of being coach is family, both his family at home and his family at that Football field

He went to bat for his Football family and got the county to push back Football while every bordering county was starting August 24th and he made it clear he was gonna make a stand for his players and protect them because he is looking out for them and doesn't want to risk losing anyone else after columbia already had an assistant coach pass away around a month ago from this virus and he doesn't want to risk that happening to any other coaches or any players and right now he is looking after his family and is standing by the very principles he has taught these kids every single day he is out there

It's one thing to preach something in a locker room before a game, it's another to live by it in your daily life

He definitely lives by what he preaches to the players and puts in a lot of time to help these players even after the season with getting to college which he has done at a higher rate than any previous coach at Columbia has done

So, are you number 42 or number 53?  :D

All joking aside, I give the coach credit for making a tough decision.   I'm sure he has preached to his team how important family is.  With this decision, he showed his players that he is willing to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.
