Could more changes be coming to the FHSAA tentative reclassification assignments?

Its so simple regarding class 2A

tell the 29 teams they have the option to move up to 3A. If they do not like that option then they can apply to the smaller independent conferences like the Sunshine State Athletic Conference, or the North Florida Conference, or the Gold Coast, or the Southeastern conference.

If they refuse, or dont get accepted, then they play as an FHSAA Independent.

There are plenty of options for the 29 schools. Only a handful of them will be dissatisifed, but who cares? There are over 500 schools. You wont ever be able to please 100 percent of them.

If the argument is that Madison is too big because it isn't "rural" enough, damn... I have driven through Fort White, Lake Butler, and Baldwin. They are all smaller than Madison, so why is this a problem?

I dont think Madison is the problem (while they ARE the most athletic out of all of 1A) I think the most complaints are 2 fold. The first complaint i see is that Ft White, Baldwin, and Union County are all over the 600 student cutoff and by bringing them in at the same time as Madison along with the three schools from south florida Ft Mead, Frost Proof and Pahokee by adding 6 new teams all to the south end of the bracket. The second most complaint i have heard is that while Madison student count is under 600 at this time because of a loss of employment in the area, there is also concern that with the new addition of a very large lumber mill moving into Madison County that there numbers will increase dramatically over the next year . This could mean that by year 2 or 3 Madison student count could be back to where it was at over 700 or more.

I dont think (rural enough)  has ever been a real problem but you have to admit their is a difference between Madison and Bell and few others.
