Covid cancelations (playoff version)

[Perspective]

Starting a new thread so that it will be easier to keep a running tally (perhaps updated each week) of teams who are forced to cancel an upcoming playoff game because of Covid.  Here are the teams I know of as of right now: 

Leto (Tampa)

Robinson (Tampa)

LaBelle

St. John Neumann

Immokalee

Parrish Community

PK Young (not 100% sure this one is Covid-related)

Oasis

Sickles

 

Feel free to add to it if you hear of others.

Add: 

Brandon (although this one may not be entirely Covid-related, if Covid-related at all), allowing Palmetto to advance.

Rockledge (allowing Desoto Co. to advance)

I think Desoto is forfeiting to Rockledge. Not COVID related. The team is too physically inferior and they don’t want to get anyone hurt. True story

Yeah, I think that's the same thing happening with Brandon (vs. Palmetto).   I guess that's one of the downsides of letting every team make the playoffs and then randomly (allegedly) picking the match-ups.

If you forfeit because you feel that it is a health hazard for kids that have no business playing football, then you have no business participating in a district and playoffs. You are just a waste of space, and the classifications could be reduced by getting rid of the garbage. It’s time to take the trash out. Cut the classes down to 5 max, and let teams that don’t know how to play football, pretend to play in some made up conference like the SSAC.

I heard all but 12 players quit the team; many urged by their parents to quit.

They were a stronger team last year but they are solid for a small school, not really top 25 level but could compete with a few teams in the top 25

Yeah. Edgewater has another great team this year. Should be a good match-up with what I'm assuming will be Viera.
