Since 2010, 10 FHSAA football playoff games have been decided by a point differential of 65 or more points.  One team was responsible for 4 of those 10 blowouts.  Which of these teams is it?

Old School, this one has me stumped.  Cocoa is the only team I can find that has as many as 3 playoffs wins by 65 or more points since 2010 (65-0 over Clewiston in 2011, 70-0 over Labelle in 2013 and 67-0 over Avon Park in 2014).  Since then, they've also racked up big wins over Bishop Verot (64-0 in 2016), Lake Placid (63-8 in 2017), Avon Park (62-7, also in 2017) and Hudson (62-0 this year).   But I can't find another playoff win for Cocoa of 65 or more points.

I'm waiving the white flag.

You're "waiving" the white flag, so that means you cannot give up:P

I totally botched this question by wording it wrongly, so apologies to all.  Cocoa has blown people out way more than any other team in the playoffs.

Some observations concerning the list of games above:
  • 29/35 games took place since 2003, when football went to 7 classes.
  • Only 2/35 games took place when there were less than 6 classes.
  • Many of these games took place in the lower classes.
  • Cocoa is on the list 5 times.  No other team comes close.
  • Many of these were first round playoff games.
  • Pahokee was responsible for one and victim of one.
  • The number of 60-point margins of victory we have been seeing in recent years is unprecedented.

3 60+ point victories in the 5A playoffs so far this year...

5A Godby 64 Paxon 0

5A Zephyrhills 62 Anclote 0

5A Rockledge 62 Estero 0

Not a single one of those is a surprise but at least this year I understand why they did it like they did

Can you imagine the amount of heat the FHSAA would have taken if they used the RPI this year when a pandemic snatched games off the list weekly left and right?

With the virus and the FHSAA allowing all teams to go in the playoffs, it shouldn't be surprising when we see a major blowout here and there.

That said, it emphasizes the huge differential in talent that exists today.  In the dinosaur days, we rarely saw 60-point blowouts, regardless of who was playing.  The rich seem to get richer.

High school football is different now as compared to the dinosaur days. In the old days, we played multiple sports throughout the year. Today's best HS athletes tend to specialize with one sport and train in that sport year round; the multi-sport athlete is a rare commodity these days. The kids today are much more athletic and talented than when I was in high school; they dominate the playing field and get the vast majority of playing time. The kids that take the less seriously are normally standing on the sideline watching the game with those of us in the stands. The best gravitate to the best; they play 7v7 in the winter and spring together and they recruit their teammates from less dominant HS teams to join them in the Fall. They build strong HS teams and dominate their districts. It's nice to be the best player on your team, but you're not going to beat a team filled with all-start talent.
