Over the past 25 years, these teams each appeared in a state final one year, but in all other years, never made it past the second round of the playoffs.  Who are the teams?

Tampa Wharton? Tampa Chamberlin? Lake Brantley? Sarasota Booker?  Pensacola Catholic? Kings Academy? Hamilton County? Mandarin?

That's all I got. I know a couple are right, but am pretty sure some are wrong.

...hmmm.  Well, Apopka played in a big game against this team the year this team went to the state final.  Would not be surprised if you were at that game.

All the teams I can think of that meet the criterion have made several fairly deep runs. So, I have to admit I am stumped. I would have said Lake Brantley, but we already have that accounted for. So, I have no clue. I could not be Edgewater or Boone, or Dr. Phillips or Osceola or ...

I remember seeing this team play in the state final...such fond memories  The game was was on a delightful December day, which was a relief since they had been predicting a deluge that Saturday.  I had not gotten any sleep the night before, and was deliberating whether I should make the drive.  Turns out I did, so I was delirious come gametime.  There were big lines at the stadium, so there was a delay getting in, but it was worth the wait.  After the game, I met a friend from the area and we had a delicious dinner, feasting on sushi and some other delicacies.

I remember now. We played them in the semifinal and scored first but ended up losing to them. They lost one of their two star players in that semi and the next week melted down like a snowman in the May sun to Miramar. The team in question was the Deland Bulldogs! How could I forget the pain of that semi loss.

    • If a company opened up and they hired someone from elite private institutions from South Florida, and someone from Franklin County which is one of the worst schools in the country cried that it was unfair, should the company create a department specifically for people who came from failing public schools from the middle of nowhere?    yes or no and why?
    • It would weed out the bad teams that are not championship material. The cream would rise to the top. So once the the teams ranked in the 400’s and 500’s were gone after the first round like they should be, it would start to get to the point only good teams are left. The last couple rounds would be the best of the best. One true state champion.    Watering down the classes and letting teams who normally would have no business winning a title advance further than they should is like letting a toddler hold a fake steering wheel and pretend he’s driving. It’s not real. And it doesn’t prepare the kids for real life. It makes them think they are better than they really are.
    • Buy Azithromycin Online is a handy antibiotic you can buy online to treat specific bacterial infections. It’s great for things like respiratory infections (think coughs and sore throats), skin infections, ear infections, and even some sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia. One cool thing about it is that you usually only need to take it for a short time, usually around five days. Just remember, it’s super important to take the full course even if you start feeling better before it’s done. This helps make sure the infection is completely gone and doesn’t come back stronger. Like with any medication, there can be side effects, like upset stomach or diarrhea, so it’s always good to talk to your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you have any health conditions or are taking other meds. Overall, Azithromycin can be an effective and convenient option for treating bacterial infections when used correctly.
    • Okay, how about that STA vs. Ida Baker matchup in your first round?  Does your analogy extend to South Florida slappies?  My opinion is simply that no one (except CoachGraham, apparently) would be interested in the 1 vs. 512, 2 vs. 511, and 200 other mismatches such a format would produce, regardless of geography.  But I could be wrong.  And now I'm thinking I should have skipped college.
