Someone with better reading comprehension skills than me... so basically the FHSAA are using the 2020 numbers (which were effected by COVID) for one year... so we will reclassify and redistrict but only for one year... am I understanding that correctly?

Yes, I hope madison in 4A to go beat bolles for the title. Bc 1A madison wins big like by 50. Just check the rosters . They loaded

Sigh, I asked for someone...Nevermind. Weren't they loaded last year and lost to a team with 1/3 the number of students  Also if you had any sense of geography you would understand that Bolles and Madison would both be in the North and unable to meet in championship

If you remembered the top 4 seeds play in the state semis. So if Madison 1 and bolles 2 they could play in the title. But Madison probably gonna be in their region. And that was last year Madison was young.

It appears that the FHSAA is placing a freeze on districts for the 2021-2022 academic school year. They plan on using the 2020 system, with a reworked system for the playoffs (for one year, anyway), until we get this pandemic under control.

I really hope this leads to a change in the classification system for the next two-year cycle. School population/geography alone are not the most effective ways to determine classifications or districts (especially for 5A-8A).

It is difficult to make a determinative interpretation based on the article you linked to. I would need to see the minutes of the meeting which, hopefully, shed more light on the matter. It is not you, the article contradicts itself at least once. The only thing clear is that this will be revisited a year from now.

Stop this naive, biased garbage. Madison County and Bolles are not in the same conversation.

When is the last time Madison beat Bolles? What is their record against Bolles? Bolles is the reason Madison went to 1A

And NFC and Jax UC are the reason the 1A teams cried for their own class.

Madison might want to take their foot off the gas a little or the 1A teams might cry and break off into a new Zero-A class. A class for teams that don’t know how to play football but want to try anyways

I would note that some schools are going to change in size, due to the emergence of new schools. Nease (Ponte Vedra) for example will probably not have 3110 when Fall of 2021 rolls around due to the opening of a new school. The FHSAA knows this and takes that in account. I am only posting these so that we get a general idea of where your school is based on population and football schools (I did football schools that played district football (non-independent) in 2019, so if a new school opened in 2020 or started playing football in 2020, they are not included). So again take this with a grain of salt.

5A-8A have a range of 80-81 teams per class
2A-4A have a range of 40-42 teams per class.
1A has a range of 37 teams if all teams are invited back despite being over the limit, 35 if they are kicked out and not replaced and 36 if Taylor (Pierson) is let back in to 1A.
