Wildwood?

im hearing that wildwood is cancelling their 2015 season, its unbelievable how far they have fallen from where they once were, they won a state title in 1964 and 1970 and that 64 title win came against yours truly, but now they are below 500 in enrollment and can barley field a team, it looks like they might be better off not playing football at all if the enrollment keeps dropping, what do you all think?

Wildwood has always had talent but i think the problem is two fold, The first one is they cant keep a coach and the community needs to (buy in) and support the program, second problem is the Villages are killing them taking the students that normally would go to Wildwood. Just so you know 3 of the 4 1A State Champions the last 4 years had an enrollment below 500. Jefferson county 180, Trenton 301 and Port Saint Jo around 400

that may be true but looks like they have fallen off a cliff, they have not been at that level in a while, and they may never become a championship contender again if this keeps up so the question is, is it worth keeping the program going and having sub par results, or deticate more time to other sports and try to preserve the athletic program as a whole

It has to start over with the JV they need to hire a quality young coach that can keep the kids at wildwood until they graduate, Year round weight training even for the JV, Schedule some wins and build some confidence and the kids will want to be apart of it. They have enough kids they are just not interested in being part of a bad team.

that's a time process, and when u have people poaching your talent its hard to do, and the problem has been they cant keep a coach, but for their sakes I hope they figure out a way to save their program, its sad to watch a once very competitive and respectful program fall off like they have
