There are a few Central Florida teams that will have something to say about that. We will see how it plays out.

You said it all right there. It is all fine and dandy to appreciate the loaded teams that may play an epic state finals game. But at what cost? Numerous blowout victories during the regular season and

Not bad but what happened with the St. Thomas game or is it because they're both in 7A

Not sure. Miramar sure as heck wouldn't run from STA as far as i know. I say MIR will need to prove themselves this season such as winning their district, and seeing STA again in the playoffs.

I'm curious as well because I have no clue.

Miami High, Miami Jackson and Booker T. Washington all have that GMAC Bowl on the schedule. But it must be a Miami thing because if you look at Miramar schedule the GMAC Bowl isn't on it

@KeemD321 and @FBGUY1989

Just got around to checking the forum and just talked to Josh about the GMAC bowl thing.

Seems to likely be something new and from what we can guess it's likely an end of season event to pit teams together perhaps based on conference rankings/seeds/records.

Pure speculation on our part but also the best possible guess.

Sounds like a good idea though.

I remember back in the 60’s (from research not experience Lol) that Dade used to have North and South GMAC Divisions, and the top team from each would play in the GMAC title game. Examples....

1966 Norland def. Jackson

1967 Miami High def. Norland

Also there was a Gold Coast Conference for the weaker teams. Same format. 2 divisions and a title game. Examples....

1963 North Miami def. Key West

1965 Coral Park def. North Miami

I could post articles about the games but this website won’t let me post pics. Everytime I screen shot a picture it says it’s too large, and when I save images from the internet it says the same thing

A lot of times putting the url in the post makes the article or pics pop itself

    • I can get behind some version of this idea. Want to transfer to a school you're not zoned for? Show a minimum G.P.A., or state an interest in a program available at the desired school that's not available at the current school. If both schools offer football, then football can't be the reason for transfer.  Of course, the "equity" monsters would fight it vigorously.
    • And something like this could probably only work, if at all, with the larger counties. Although I'd love to see the look on Jesse's face when the Madison County District School Board designates James Madison Preparatory High School (the only other public high school in the County other than Madison Co. H.S.) as the Magnet Football School.
    • And what self-respecting school and athletic department wants to be considered a "have not"?  I don't think it would ever pass the smell test' but you're thinking outside the box; that's good.
    • "Just once I would like to see a couple of these kids say that they are transferring to another school due to the other school having a better academic rating" I hope that you're not holding your breath waiting for that to happen.  I would love to see the FHSAA put an academic requirement on all transfers wanting to participate in athletics at the new school; say a 3.0 or a 3.5 cumulative GPA verified by the former school, or in lieu of that, a waiver by the previous school allowing the transferring student to play immediately. The only exceptions would be either (1) the student transferring as a result of his/her family physically moving to the new school's zone and the family establishing permanent residency there, (2) transferring from a private high school to his/her new school's zone where the family has established permanent residency, or (3) transferring to a private high school with eligibility based upon meeting the GPA requirement listed above.
    • Just once I would like to see a couple of these kids say that they are transferring to another school due to the other school having a better academic rating with the fans praising them for declaring it.  Something that was the main intention behind the legislature passing the transfer ruling.
