Bolles gets some

Idk about UC currently but I've heard about them in the past trying to lure players there

Of course Jacksonville publics have no reason to complain about TCA or Bolles when the top ones are doing much worse and the moment someone blows a whistle the foundation gonna come crashing down

Look I agree that public schools are getting kids. But I don't agree with the much worse. Trinity, Bolles, UC they all get kids from surrounding areas of Jax.

I've spoken to parents of kids over in Duval who mentioned that coaches from all the top publics in Duval are texting players to try and "poach" them from other schools

That is a serious recruiting violation and the type of one that would lead to serious FHSAA sanctions if reported

The reason the schools can get away with it is neither the parents or the media will actually report on the teams doing it, which is understandable

However for the media to take the other complete extreme of acting like these publics are all homegrown is laughable but I guess they have to make up some excuse for why the publics in Duval can't win state titles after they spend all year hyping up teams like Lee and Sandalwood

I've heard the same stories about the privates. Now the validity of them is up in the air, probably on both ends. In Duval a lot has to do with the coaching. In my opinion it has not been on par with the rest of the state. Trinity and Bolles have good staffs. So tons of kids will want to go there.

I’m comparing TCA to all the other private schools in the state that are good

y’all can call it wat y’all want but trinity is a Jacksonville school with all Jacksonville kids on there roster that start there from 7th grade

trinity roster is all about 35-40 kids and they will play anybody with rosters double their size

kids are kids and if I coach them right and train the heck out of them U can win !!!
but we l done talking about this because y’all really put a false narrative on trinity and don’t even be knowing what’s really going on out there

For any of the private schools around the state that are good in a big metro area they get their kids from that area. All of Trinity's kids did not start there from the 7th grade. The two kids who signed with Florida last year transferred in. Trinity Trinity does a good job and I agree they are not afraid to play anyone. They also learned how to work the homeschool system in their favor.

No he came from Oakleaf, the OL from Yulee. Rumor has it they are getting the kid from Fernandina as well.

Yulee has gotten like 3 or 4 Fernandina kids this off-season and also lost a kid to Hilliard

I've only seen two transfers so far this off-season that went to TCA, one of whom was a QB who started at TCA before going to Creekside past two years

Make that 6 kids from Fernandina to Yulee and Fernandina's best kid is going to Trinity. Trinity also got a kid from Baldwin.

Look at teams like MC MNW DEERFIELD etc teams that’s full of recruits, I wonder what would their record look like without them.

How many have gone to Riverside? I remember talking about 5 of them in a thread a while back but idk if they have gotten more since then but it's highly likely they probably have

Footballs gonna be a lot of fun this year. I haven’t seen STA or IMG’s schedules yet. I bet STA is still too stubborn to schedule them

I thought I posted STA schedule but I do know they play MNW week 1

That was 8 years ago. Dillard is a much different team now

IMG is a much different team now also; it's a nationally ranked team that recruits talent from all over the country. There's no need for them to beat up on locally recruited teams like Dillard. IMG has nothing to gain from a game with Dillard.

About time STA played Northwestern! They’re gonna get crushed like a soda can, and I'm all for it!

I don’t know now, as talented as MNW is they struggle with well coached teams EX...img ...& Lowndes

I can see the raiders beating them & it’s possible for the bulls to win to, but MNW is playing STA at the right time the first game of the season.

To be amongst or be the best you have to play the best I would love to play img again but hey we’re in a district with STA now so we’re getting a top 5 national school on a silver platter.

Don't forget in 2013 Northwestern played St. Thomas and lost 38-3 however they were down that year. This years matchup is going to be interesting being that both are really good

Lowndes yes

IMG? No

MNW lost that one because they couldn't go 2 plays without getting a flag on them, coaching had nothing to do with that win and there's nothing impressive about a team that loaded winning barely against good teams when they are supposed to be a JUCO team who can't lose to high school teams like people on here claim they are

I COULD COACH IMG TO AN UNDEFEATED SEASON!

What a great outlook to have. “We can’t compete with them because we’re not good enough”. That will instill confidence In your players, without a doubt.

I may be wrong, but I think that I remember seeing Venice play IMG on ESPN two seasons ago and it was a game that should not have been played. Venice fought bravely, but the difference in talent levels and depth said the game should not have been scheduled.

Careful what you wish for. I recall Saint Francis (Maryland/DC) playing MC a couple of seasons ago and SFA treated them like a red headed step child; it was pitiful. The wannabes rarely rise to the occasion.

You do know MNW lost to img 24-7 in 2019 then 34-7 in 2018.

both years MNW & IMG was ranked nationally, & if you’re gonna talk about recruits then img isn’t the only school guilty you think teams like Miami central and Miami northwestern get nationally ranked just by within the zone talent ?? No they recruit and make local super teams.

and I don’t want this topic to get locked so ima stay on topic, all in all teams like iMG & STA because of their resources can go the extra mile with getting talent for their rosters, but if any public school do the same thing to any type of degree can they really complain ?

do you think regular schools that don’t get a boat load of transfers and 4 & 5 star recruits think the playing feel is fair when they have to line up against them knowing their at a disadvantage.

    • My opinion is any team that recruits talent from other teams should be in the open division.  It doesn't matter if you are public or private.  Once you start putting together all-star teams, your mission is different than the rest of us and you need to play against other teams with similar philosophies of acquiring players from other teams.  If the First Academy, for example, recruits a completely new team of elite prospects every year, their mission is to showcase the talent for colleges.  Great, go play against other like-minded teams like Venice, Chaminade, MNW, AHP, STA etc.  Similarly, a team like West Boca, who is new money in this sport, doesn't have a *single starter* that actually attends WBHS.  How is that possibly in the spirit of what HS fair play sports is about?  Put them all in the same division and be done with it.
    • Do this suppose to be in the Broward vs USA classics ? If so dillard is paying nothing to be apart of that. Also dillard is gonna be loaded this year. Secondly we duck smoke from nobody. We've played the national ranked chaminades, miami central,American heritage & sta all within the last 3 years. & were (2-0) in our last two OOS games. Against top 5 teams from said state. With that said if the rumors are true I like it.  Last year it was easy schedule this, fools gold that, "oh in order for Dillard to know how good they really are & to prepare themselves for the playoffs they need to play great competition, so aye lets get it.
    • Gotta pay for those players some how.
