9/3 - Edgewater at Venice

Thoughts?  Should be a really good matchup in 7A. 

Since Venice does their own PPV livestream via their own website, does anyone know for a fact if you buy a livestream "ticket" that you get on-demand access to it later?  The purchase page seems to imply such, but I'd like to be sure since can't watch it live.

If they have all that you would think you should be able to view it for free as well, especially with COVID going on.

I don't know a lot about Venice.  Followed EW a little last year since my Eagles met them in the 7A semis.  I know they lost some great talent, but they still look pretty stout from what I can tell.  Watched a little of their spring game against 2020 8A runner up Kissimmee Osceola (down to wire but EW lost) and their blowout of Bishop Moore this year.

I watched their (Venice's) HBC's podcast live last evening. He implied that you should be able to watch it later; at least for now. It seems their process is evolving with time.

Venice is 8a. It’ll b a battle. Love the DL of Venice. Secondary gotta tighten up from game with NW.

Edgewater has the best offensive line in orlando as well it has been the best unit in orlando since at least 2019 and maybe 2018

Yes, in my opinion he's the best offensive player in Orlando and is only a Junior. He runs with both power and speed and can catch the ball in the backfield when the situation arises. He has about 38-40 DI offers including several from leading Power 5 schools.  

In last year's state title game, as a Sophomore, he gave the St. Thomas defense fits.

Kid is frightening as last year they said he wasn't at 100%.

People use the word special indiscriminately. But in his case, in my opinion, he is a very special offensive player.

From what little I've seen this year, they look very stout.  Key players to replace on O - QB C. Mobley, WR T. Hill,  C. Leary and HB/FB #20 (Miller?) who I think was a key cog in the success of their running game.  So will be interesting to see how they do there.  Returners WR J. Connelly and RB CJ Baxter appear to be studs.

Looks like the QB transfer from Toho H.S., Tyler Wesley is starting to give them some additional production there also.  He had a nice game against Bishop Moore sharing time with the Carter kid who's been there.  Poor Toho high school has suffered tremendously from kids transferring out since their HC Marc Deas left.  That program was trending up here in Osceola county till disaster hit them this year.

Perhaps Toho and Hallandale could play an 11-game series against each other, alternating home games?

Venice 41, Edgewater 7.

The most impressive pair of games of anyone in the state, by far.
