how can IMG lose when they have all that talent and ability to recruit?

I didn't say IMG wasn't good. But they are beatable. IMG recruits top players but not everyone of their players are top players. Coaches that have a lot of talent at their disposal tend to get lazy, because they can overwhelm their opponents. That is until they run into a team that can match them talent wise and is better coached. Then they lose. IMG's schedule was tough, but not anymore than what some of the other top teams in Florida play every week.

yeah it has to be coaching, if they lose a single game it is all on coaches for them, too much talent for the coaches to not get the job done

As far as ranking IMG in the national polls, who cares. They aren't the only ones that recruit. Bishop Gorman, Don Bosco, De La Salle, St. John Bosco and many other national powers recruit. It's mainly the private schools since they have no boundaries, but none of them are unbeatable. 

 

I do think AHP was lucky to catch IMG in the first game of the season. It takes time for talent to gel together.

Not a bad schedule, not top 10 nationally but top 25 I would say.

 

IMG plays to the level of the opponent. I also think they can be beat by any of the top 10 Florida teams if things go against IMG on any Friday night. Chances though are that IMG beats all Florida teams 8 of 10 tries. Just to much talent. 7 IMG coaches played in the NFL for a combined 44 years exp. That's a lot of top coaching. 

 

Keep in mind they are 16 - 18 year olds and play like 16 - 18 year olds. Thing is that those athletes will be ready for the next level before most other recruits. Probably 5 will start their first year.

 

And for the record, they should not be playing regular high school teams. They should be playing top privates and academies only. 

 

Side note, Cocoa was moving the ball on IMG until Judson was hit in the ribs and taken out of the game. On the first drive, Cocoa starts on the 25, had 2 first downs then fumbled on the 48. IMG throws a bomb and scores first play. Second Cocoa drive and Judson is hurt after taking Cocoa 50 yards. The team fell apart and it became a seal clubbing when Judson left the game.

To Columbia - IMG is a Central Florida school. Even though the University of South Florida is in Tampa, it's not South Florida. Plus, the school itself has been there for a good bit, it just caught all this exposure because they recently added HS football and you know the rest of the story. 

 

To Zoe - Oxbridge is a new private down here holding it down quite well in 3A. Other than that, we don't have any other new privates down here.
