BTW 33, Cocoa 14

BTW killed Cocoa with the slant left , fade right. Was ugly right from the kickoff when Cocoa fumbled it at the 35. It was all BTW from the get go.

 

Cocoa has some nice runs from Judson and some of the RB's but could not stop BTW's passing game where BTW stopped Cocoa several times. You put Cocoa's running game and  BTW's passing game together as one team this year and you have a national championship.

 

One really cool thing was when the PA went out in the middle of the Star Spangled Banner the stands from both sides kicked in and finished singing it. Very patriotic moment. Also some good sportsmanship from both sides seeing they're 2 chippy teams.

that was a good show of sportsmanship and surpised a bit by score but BTW a good team and should be able to handle Raines in finals next week

Booker T. Washington wins by 13, successfully defending its state title despite its less than stellar record on paper. Kind of similar to Apopka last year.

BTW by 14. They are on a roll it seems like. Even in a down year they win titles lol

Coaching and experience goes a long way in title games and BTW has both of those I believe.

That will be the key. How BTW handles those athletes. If they don't you could see Raines come away with a state title.

Nothing against Bolles, but I was kinda tired of seeing BTW and Bolles every year in 4A. Nice to see a different matchup for a change.

Raines does have some big boys. Looked up some film on HUDL and they look like they do have more size than BTW does.

If we're comparing Booker T. Washington and Raines schedule on paper clearly the Tornadoes has the better schedule and battle tested. Don't get me wrong, Raines finally got over the hump of beating Bolles twice and when it counted but that's not enough.

Will be a good game. Raines will cover the slant and the fade much better than Cocoa did. I will say Richardson gets the ball out quick. BTW will live or die by their passing game. The running game wasn't there even though they have some size on the O-line.

Of course BTW didn't need to run much so it was hard to really get a feeling on their running abilities.

 

I wish I could go to the game but I will be in the Virgin Islands. Even if Cocoa had won I would have had to miss the championship.

 

Good luck to both teams. Hope it is injury free and very little ref involvement.

BTW will live or die by how well they contain Raines and the athleates they have, if they can contain them then BTW can run away with it, if not they Raines might pull the upset

Warning to Raines, BTW will throw the swing pass to the left, they are very comfortable with it and get 5 yards pretty often with it. Richardson seems to throw better to his left or over the middle. His passes to his right go high or low.
