Gotta remember Homestead is playing just to play in my opinion. I don’t think they've been this talented before and made it this far before. I know I've stated don’t sleep on down south schools but people generally think of Columbus, South Dade, Killian, Southridge and Palmetto not Homestead. Heck Homestead might just get blown out against St. Thomas and might be alright with it because they made it this far. Again good job Dillard and hope y'all do good again next year

Thanks bro, we will be ready to run it back next year and if it’s homestead again so be it let’s line it up, but I believe I heard somewhere this district alignment was only for one year ?

They didn’t try anything new to get him open they went with their same game plan as usus, then 85 percent of the time our Qb was getting sacked.

and when he or the other WR was wide open they dropped the balls every time as the crowd continue to yell DRY OFF THE BALLS for the players, Dillard struggled on offense all night because of it.

which is a trend because in 2019 vs Miami central in the third round it rained all night and our offense struggled all night and lost 35-0

in 2017 we faced carol city in the 1st round it rained all night long and our offense struggled all night long and we lost 21-0 to the chiefs.

you can tell homestead knew they had a disadvantage in the trenches so they counteracted that by running plays that would be effective, Qb options, pulling the offense right as of your running but yet you’re throwing it 30 yards over the top of the defense.

where as in our offense your on 2 & 10 and you’re throwing to the flat behind the sticks which gets blew up in the back field smh.

if this was a dry field on a dry night I believe that pack 6 would’ve been caught and a lot of more open passes that would’ve led to points would’ve been caught. But none of that should be used an excuse and won’t be coming from me because Dillard should know playing in south Florida what time it is especially this time of year & should’ve came in prepared, they wasn’t and homestead did what they were suppose to as a #2 seed in front of their home fans.

Thanks @THIS_IS_DILLARD! Try to keep your head up. Coaches definitely should have had multiple towels to try to keep the ball dry. All in all Dillard had a great season and one of the best defenses in the state. 8 shutouts in 12 games is unheard of.  So hats off to that.

If so would you like for Dillard to stay in 7A or move up or down.

Tbh it would be challenges in any class unless we were in 2A

So to me to it wouldn’t matter where we’re at we just need to be READY! wether it’s STA,MC,MNW,homestead whoever Period I don’t want us ducking nobody!! That’s not the DILLARD HIGH DNA.

Honest opinion I think Dillard would do good in 8A. Now St. Thomas won't be in your way but you could still schedule them in a regular season game.

    • Here is a tough one. 1980 Gainesville or Tate. Both 13-1 Here is the tape of the tape. Please let me know what you think.    Tale of the tape.    Tate - class 4A only loss was against 8-2 Choctaw by 4 points  beat 12-1 Miami Columbus in the title game 35-7 but the game was in Pensacola. Meaning Columbus had to drive almost 10 hours  Gainesville - class 3A only loss was against 10-1 Palatka by 8 points  beat Titusville 21-0 in the title game on the road in Titusville
    • For 1997 I picked Carol City over Raines. It was tough but CC finished top 5 in the nation according to USAToday. And they played a tougher schedule. It’s tough when you have the top 2 teams both undefeated.
    • Yeah in the 70’s-90’s the debate will most likely be between the top 2 largest class state champs
    • 1976 - Godby HS went 14-0, defeated ledgendary Gene Cox, Leon Lions for the 1st time in school history in its last game of the regular season. Beat a Carol City Team, (that would come back the next year to win the 1977 state title), 21-15 in Lakeland, FL for the 1976 4A title. Two members of that Godby team (Sammy Knight, Chris Hobbs) would then lead FAMU to a upset win over the University of Miami. 1978 - Meritt Island - Beat Carl Madison coached (going to see the name Carl Madison alot through out the 80's),Pine Forrest for the 4A state Title 20-16 and would go on to be repeat state champs winning the 1979 state 4A state title as well, seeing Pine Forrest once again in the Finals 1979 - Merritt Island - Beat Pine Forrest 19-14 1980 - Argument could be made that 3A state Champ Gainesville HS was the states best, as they defeated Titusville on Titusville's home field 21-15, but in the end Carl Madison's (who we'll talk about again in the 80's), Tate HS has to be considered the state best destorying Miami Columbus HS 35-7! 1981 - Again 3A would again have to be where the state's best team played. Palatka after struggling in its 1st round game went on to dominate evenutally winning the state title 42-2 over Suncoast. Unlike Vero Beach (which won the 4A state itle that year), Palatka was loaded with star power, with 2 of its players eventually playing in the NFL (John L Williams, and Jarvis Williams) 1982 - Going 3A once again as Titusville would shutout 3 of its 4 playoff opponents, winning the state title over Osceola 33-0 1983 - 4A Manatee High School goes 14-0 for its 1st state title and the beginning of a dynasty through out the 80's and into the early 90's   more later.......
