How did the officials blow the call?   Oh, and my autograph is on its way.

(Channeling my inner Jambun this time). :D

I saw it on the highlights of the game. I think he was referring to what looked like a tipped pass that was intercepted and "caught" by a Venice defender, and didn't look like it was possessed, but the referee ruled that play a touchdown for Venice. The defender who made the play seemed surprised that the play was ruled an interception for a touchdown.

I thought I was clear that the better team won.  That said, if the halftime score was 14-7 Apopka would have at least been within striking distance although it would have been an uphill battle without a doubt.  Going down 21-7 meant they had to abandon the run game which if you even watched Apopka during the regular season they tend to look sluggish then break off a 50 yard run and score.  Even the announcers labeled it a "Back Breaker" knowing Apopka's MO, so yes I did watch the game and so I stand by that description.  My other opinion that differs from yours is that there are more than 3 teams that can hang with Venice.  I thought this forum was designed to express one's views.  You did yours and I did mine, so we can respectfully disagree.

You should absolutely feel free to express your views and I apologize if I was harsh. Regarding Cocoa, Gibbons and Jesuit: I excluded those 3 teams based on their performance in the playoffs, specifically the championship game. I'm sure I don't need to explain why Jesuit limping to the finish line against nationally unranked Pine Forest does not inspire confidence. And the Cocoa/Gibbons game - which I gladly paid the $9.99 expecting to see the game of the weekend - was such a disappointment. Closely contested? Yes. Played at a high level? Not even close. Thought I was watching a JV game. Both of those teams had close games with Venice earlier in the season. But I don't think either of them could stay within 2 touchdowns if they played Venice now. Just my opinion. That's why I think there are 4 elite FL teams right now: Miami Central, Aquinas, Chaminade, Venice.

Although Jesuit suffered some bad scares in that game against Pine Forest, I never truly believed that the Tigers were going to lose. They played some sloppy defense, especially late, but I still believe they are deserving of “elite” status in Florida because they went undefeated with a strong schedule and had a really solid win over Northwestern. I will just say this, I am glad Venice didn’t have to play Jesuit in the post season this year. All of the state championship winners I thought were deserving of their titles.

Why can't you move on from that? How was I to know that you were watching the game?

So if Wellington thinks cocoa jv what is chaminade bc American heritage has been handing them loss every time.  American was working central the whole game.  If American went undefeated everyone would say they the best. Well they wasn't to far off on the scoreboard.  And I don't like them at all .

Thanks for that, but still not convinced or agree.

Jesse, one game does not define an entire season. I've been reading your posts and I understand why you keep pushing this narrative of "Madison beat FSU High which beat Trinity Christian which beat American Heritage which beat Chaminade"...which means that if the stars were aligned perfectly then Madison would beat Chaminade. I'm not saying it's impossible...just highly unlikely. Just like the the Chaminade/Berkeley game. Tons of respect for Berkeley, but they were outclassed and were not going to win that game. Same goes for Madison/Chaminade, Madison/Venice, etc.  And considering that Madison barely got past Hawthorne I would expect a little humility on your part rather than casting Madison in with the elite teams in Florida. But maybe it's just me.

They had a bad game on offense. Plus championship so nerves kicked in. Madison was elite in 2019 they almost beat lakewood. And they beat Clearwater academy who is a mini img academy.  They would have bullied chaminade then . Please the game on YouTube type in Madison vs Clearwater academy.

    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
    • I like it if there is only 4 classes
    • I like the match. An entire COUNTY against a small little Catholic school. Toss up.
