DISTRICT OUTLOOK

Who’s In:

elyhelmet1. Blanche Ely – After missing the playoffs last year, the Tigers will have 15 starters back between both sides of the ball giving promise not only for a return back to the postseason, but a district championship. They do face a tough schedule and one that will ultimately test mettle of what this team is truly made of.

Fighting It Out:

boydandersonhelmet2. Boyd Anderson – The Cobras have taken a huge hit thanks to graduation and that means some big holes to fill on both sides of the ball. With Eddie Jackson and Greg Hankerson gone, new starters will have to step and learn quickly to keep Boyd Anderson in the district championship hunt. Also add in an improving Fort Lauderdale team and things are going to be more challenging than last season.

fortlauderdalehelmet3. Fort Lauderdale – Its been nine years since the Flying L’s have made the playoffs, but there is a lot of hope and optimism that this team could have what it takes to make it inside the playoffs this season. While the team might be young, there is talent that has been developing and some of it could surprise a few people during the season.

Got Work To Do:

northbayhavenhelmet4. Northeast (Oakland Park) – Kez McCorvey takes over, replacing Donnell Bennett who stepped down after four seasons with the team. Now McCorvey will try to keep the success Bennett had, going and trying to get the Hurricanes back into the playoffs. However, being a tough district with only two playoff spots and a tough non-district schedule will determine if Northeast can keep things up or not.
