St. Thomas Aquinas earns top ranking from Prep Nation; four others ranked

More preseason national rankings have come out – this time from PrepNation.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders have earned the No. 1 spot, now giving them the Top ranking in three of six nationally recognized polls that includes USA TODAY’s Super 25 Expert Rankings, USA TODAY’s Super 25 Computer Rankings, MaxPreps’ Xcellent 25, MaxPreps’ Freeman Rankings, High School Football America’s Top 25 and Prep Nation Top 25.

The Raiders open their 2016 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami next week where they will take on the No. 17 ranked team in the rankings, Booker T. Washington.

Other teams ranked in the PrepNation poll for the preseason include No. 3 IMG Academy, No. 19 Plantation American Heritage and No. 21 Miami Central.

IMG Academy will kick off the 2016 season at Grayson, Ga., which will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Plantation American Heritage which will also have its season opener broadcast on ESPNU will make the trip to Georgia as well take on Colquitt County. Miami Central will travel to Clermont East Ridge to open the season next week.

Rankings from PrepNation will be updated every week, usually on Monday, during the regular season.
