The second day of the season saw a couple of upsets of Top 25 teams, plus other teams getting the season started in our Flag Football roundup for Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

Apopka will host DeLand (1-0) on Thursday night while Flagler Palm Coast will travel to Wekiva on Thursday night. Both games are District 2A-2 matchups.

Over in Tallahassee, unranked Florida High (1-0) knocked off No. 23 Chiles (0-1) in, 20-14 in overtime. It was the Seminoles’ first win over Chiles in program history.

No. 14 St. Cloud rolls past Poinciana to open the season

St. Cloud rolled past Poinciana, 26-6 on the road to open the season as quarterback Elly Schmidt accounted for four touchdowns, two of them going to wide receiver Celina Adams while center Meg Messersmith accounted for 10 total receptions. Great wins by both JV (26-0) and Varsity (27-6) against @poincianahigh. Still so much to learn and get better with. Be happy with your win, just don't ever be satisfied. #stayhungry #domoreworkharder
