After reviewing box scores and standout highlights, we narrowed the field down to 10 finalists for the very first The Blitz – Southwest Florida Football Player of the Week award. We also spotlighted a few more athletes who were strongly considered.

Scored four touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving) while totaling 70 yards of offense in a 42–0 win over Robinson.

Completed 13 of 16 passes for 171 yards and five touchdowns in a 48–7 win over North Port.
QB Jaydis Wiley, Bayshore
Threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 57 yards, accounting for all 312 offensive yards in a 36–30 overtime win over Sarasota.
RB Jermain Skinner, Cape Coral
Powered the ground game with 126 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries in a 40–10 win over North Fort Myers.
