TAMPA, Fla. — Riverview enters the 2025 season looking to bounce back from a 2–8 finish last fall with a stronger, more experienced roster and renewed energy under head coach Tony Rodriguez. Now in his fourth year, Rodriguez pointed to last season’s tough schedule and key injuries as early challenges that helped lay the foundation for a veteran-led group this fall. The Sharks will compete in District 6A-7.
Rodriguez was joined on stage by four-year players ATH Adam Greenwell, C Owen Hershey, OG Nicholas Duffy, and RB Koby Holloman, all of whom are expected to play major roles in 2025. Greenwell, described as a do-it-all athlete, will contribute as a runner, receiver, and possibly passer. Hershey and Duffy anchor the offensive line, while Holloman returns as a senior captain in the backfield.
The group emphasized improved leadership, player accountability, and cultural growth entering the new season. The addition of defensive coordinator Diardlo Blue, a Hillsborough County native and former University of Toledo player, is expected to bring added discipline and focus to the defensive side.
