The Northeast Hurricanes of Oakland Park are once again in for another change at the top.
As reported first by Football Scoop yesterday, former Hurricanes Head Coach Kez McCorvey has departed the program after one season to join the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). This would be his second coaching in the CFL, his first stint being in 2012 with the Toronto Argonauts.
Northeast has already hired a new coach to take McCorvey’s place as Hollywood Hills running back Coach Christopher Hay accepted the position.
McCorvey originally replaced Donnell Bennett who stepped down after the 2012 season to pursue other opportunities. Bennett eventually became the head coach of nearby Coral Spring Christian prior to the 2013 season. McCorvey previously coached at Maclay in Tallahassee in 2009-2010.
The Oakland Park Northeast head coaching changes becomes the 95th change on the 2014 Coaches Moving Van.
