Fort Walton Beach wins Sunshine State Spirit Showdown
The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) announced the winner of its second annual Sunshine State Spirit Showdown earlier today with the Fort Walton Beach Vikings claiming the honor. The FHSAA created the contest last year to promote sportsmanship and school spirit in communities throughout the state. Clay High School in Green Cove Springs won the honor last year as the inaugural champions. The videos that are sent into the FHSAA are judged by the 16-member FHSAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. To learn more in how the videos are judged or to watch the winning video click here.
FHSAA accepting applications for renewal/first-time membership
The FHSAA has opened up the window for schools to either renew their membership or apply for first-time membership for the 2015-16 school year. The deadline for renewal is Friday, May 29, 2015 by the close of business (5:00 PM ET) while the application for first-time membership with all required fees is due by Thursday, April 30, 2015 by the close of business (5:00 PM ET). Spring Football getting closer and closer
The days are ticking down until April 27, the first day in which many teams can hit the practice field for spring football. However, one of the biggest to get you read is our annual Spring Games & Jamboree’s list.
