MaxPreps, which is currently releasing its Early Contenders Top 25 for the 2015 preseason has given the Mainland Buccaneers and the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders an early national ranking.
Mainland checks in at No. 19 on the list and will be one team to watch for once again this season with talent surrounding both sides of the ball again. The Buccaneers which are now placed in District 13 along with four other Volusia County schools and Matanzas in Flagler County will face earlier tests in the playoffs this season and should it reach the regional finals, Miami Central will likely be the team waiting for them.

St. Thomas Aquinas which is coming off a Class 7A State Championship win last season checks in at No. 16. The Raiders are under new leadership with alum and former University School head coach Roger Harriott taking over for Rocco Casullo who left after the season was over. The Raiders, as always, are loaded with a ton of talent and are already an early favorite to make another run for a state championship again this season.
