Here are the Class 1A Preseason Rankings from FloridaHSFootball.com.
Class 1A Top 5
1. Port. St. Joe: Went 12-2 last season en route to the Class 1A state championship. Quite a few players return and is a favorite to repeat this season.
2. Madison County: Cowboys went 9-4 last season reaching the Class 4A state semifinals, but have now dropped to Class 1A with falling enrollment. Schedule is still tough as expected as expectations are high.
3. Baker: Went 10-2 last season before falling to Vernon. Baker has some athletes coming back with some added transfers coming in from Crestview. Could be the team that challenges Port St. Joe from 1A North.
4. Dixie County: Went 11-2 last season before falling to eventual 1A state runner-up Hamilton County in the state semifinals. Still in the mix to make a run out of 1A South.
5. Trenton: Finished last season 10-2 before falling to eventual 1A state runner-up Hamilton County in the regional finals. Will play in a competitively tough District 1A-7 this season.
