GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After seven weeks of football, the FHSAA has once again updated the playoff point averages for all teams in all classifications.
There are big changes across the board this week as some teams have entered the projected playoff picture while others have fallen out. In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 7A, you will find a breakdown of point averages for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

No. 1 Columbia (7A-2)
No. 2 Buchholz (7A-3)
No. 3 Lincoln (7A-1)
No. 4 Edgewater (7A-4)
Wildcards
No. 5 Robert E. Lee
No. 6 Oakleaf
No. 7 Fletcher
No. 8 Bartram Trail*
*Bartram Trail and First Coast are in a tie and would need a coin flip to break the tie, as they would remain tied through all of the tiebreaker procedures, but for this instance ,we are going to take the team with the better overall record for this.
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 8 Bartram Trail at No. 1 Columbia
No. 5 Robert E. Lee at No. 4 Edgewater
No. 6 Oakleaf at No. 3 Lincoln
No. 7 Fletcher at No. 2 Buchholz
QUICK THOUGHTS: I think Columbia will bet the top overall seed here as there is a big separation game between them and Buchholz which is the ranked No. 2 in the region. However, I think the race in District 7A-3 is still open and Buchholz may not be the district champ, but the next few weeks will tell us the complete story. Edgewater is clearly on track to win out District 7A-4 without any issue. Teams like Chiles, Atlantic Coast and Creekside could be in possible play a low wildcard spot, but it will take some crazy things to happen as well for them to see a chance to be in.

QUICK THOUGHTS: I think Lakeland and Plant are clearly the top two teams in this region and I do feel Viera will win their district outright without much issue. I think the Wildcard spots are in play somewhat with Sickles and Lake Nona in my mind being more clear cut while Wiregrass Ranch and Winter Haven will have to fight off the likes of Kathleen, Gaither and Liberty to possibly get in.

No. 8 Countryside at No. 1 Venice
No. 5 Braden River at No. 4 Riverdale
No. 6 Plant City at No. 3 Tampa Bay Tech
No. 7 St. Petersburg at No. 2 Pinellas Park
QUICK THOUGHTS: I think a lot is in play in this region and that no one has a true advantage for any seed at this point as showing Venice and Pinellas Park in a tie for the top spot right now. I do feel like the wildcard spots are all in play and with a lot of games left there is going to be a lot of shuffling here. Teams like Palmetto, Bloomingdale and even Gulf Coast are still within shot of having a chance to be in the playoffs with a wildcard spot at least.

QUICK THOUGHTS: Between St. Thomas Aquinas and Dwyer will be the top two seeds in the region, while McArthur is likely locked into the No. 3 spot with Doral Academy holding on to the No. 4 spot. I feel like the wildcard spots are all in fair play right now as teams like Forest Hill, Olympic Heights and West Broward all have chances to be in the playoffs.
