Skinny: When first coming into this season, it wasn’t thought of much that this matchup could have a huge implications in terms of if and when rankings from us do come out, but now it will have all of that and more. The Knights are coming into this game coming of a huge 31-24 overtime victory over Bolles who has been consistently one of the top teams in Northeast Florida over the years and who had finished as the 2019 Class 4A State Runner-up. With that huge victory, all eyes are now on the Knights as they take on the Golden Eagles. Quarterback Daniel Plummer (2022) led the way last week with 247 yards passing and two touchdowns including the game-winner in overtime. Wide receiver Jack Goodrich (2021) had 172 yards and a touchdown in the game while running back Preston Strope (2022) had 124 yards rushing on 32 carries and two touchdowns in the win. For the host Golden Eagles, they are coming off a 33-10 win over Ridgeview. Running back Timothy Thomas (2022) is coming a strong game with 19 carries for 170 yards and three touchdowns, carrying a lot of the offensive load while defensive lineman Jourdan Haynes (senior) collected three sacks and six tackles including four for a loss in the win.
