10 weeks are in the books for the 2021 Florida high school football season and the FHSAA has released their latest look at the RPI football playoff rankings as we head into the final week of the regular season. As such this is going to be our last RPI breakdown for the 2021 season.
As such, this update provides the entire state a glimpse of what the potential playoff matchups could be looking like come the second week of November, but remember things change, as we still have three weeks worth of games (including this week) to go, however, the playoff picture has become much clearer with some teams already done for the regular season and other teams having one game remaining.
In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 5A, you will find a breakdown of RPI rankings for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

PROJECTED DISTRICT CHAMPS
This is based on current district standings and taking the highest-rated team among the district standings if they have won district games. Should a district not have any district games played as of yet, the highest-rated team will be mythically slotted in as a district champion for projection purposes only. Teams highlighted in red have officially clinched their district championship.
5A-1: Wakulla – No. 3
5A-2: Baker County – No. 2
5A-3: Raines – No. 1
5A-4: North Marion – No. 4
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 8 Terry Parker vs. No. 1 Raines
No. 5 West Florida vs. No. 4 North Marion
No. 6 Ed White vs. No. 3 Wakulla
No. 7 Bishop Kenny vs. No. 2 Baker County
QUICK THOUGHTS: As we mentioned last week that Clay or North Marion’s playoff hopes almost 100% relied on winning the district championship and sure enough that happened with North Marion winning District 5A-4 while Clay now sits outside the bubble as No. 9. Also shifting this week is Raines moving to the No. 1 seed while Baker County moved back to the No. 2 seed. No other changes have happened in the region with the updated standings.

5A-5: Dunnellon – No. 2
5A-6: Tavares – No. 3
5A-7: Seabreeze – No. 4

PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 8 Bishop Moore vs. No. 1 Merritt Island
No. 5 Rockledge vs. No. 4 Seabreeze
No. 6 Satellite vs. No. 3 Tavares
No. 7 Leesburg vs. No. 2 Dunnellon
QUICK THOUGHTS: With Merritt Island and Dunnellon clinching their districts last week both of them are in the position to take the top two seeds in the region. The only other change is that Bishop Moore is now looking at the No. 8 seed after getting a big win over Deltona to likely crush their playoff hopes but will have to get a win this week to defend the spot from Palm Bay who is not far behind at the No. 9 spot.

5A-9: Zephyrhills – No. 1
5A-10: Clearwater – No. 2
5A-11: Chamberlain – No. 4
5A-12: Sebring- No. 3
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 8 Port Charlotte vs. No. 1 Zephyrhills
No. 5 Wesley Chapel vs. No. 4 Chamberlain
No. 6 Nature vs. No. 3 Sebring
No. 7 Gibbs vs. No. 2 Clearwater
QUICK THOUGHTS: With it all said, Chamberlain took District 5A-11 and will be a district champion with a losing record in the playoffs and guaranteed to have the No. 4 seed at best. With all that said no changes happened in the order of the top four seeds, however Wesley Chapel and Nature Coast have traded off seeds. The biggest loser in all of this at the moment? That would be Hudson, who is just .001 behind Port Charlotte in the standings and is sitting on the outside looking in.

5A-14: American Heritage (Plantation) – No. 3
5A-15: Miami Central – No. 2
5A-16: Miami Killian – No. 1
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 8 Cypress Lake vs. No. 1 Miami Killian
No. 5 Stranahan vs. No. 4 Estero
No. 6 North Miami Beach vs. No. 3 Miami Central
No. 7 Boynton Beach vs. No. 2 American Heritage
QUICK THOUGHTS: With American Heritage locked in with a district championship now, no changes have been made with the top four seeds, but North Miami Beach moves up to the No. 6 seed after a win last week while Key West has fallen sharply is now on the outside looking in.
