What To Know: The visiting Blue Darters are coming off a 49-0 victory over West Port (Ocala) to take a lead in District 7A-5 action … The host Eagles are coming off a 31-21 victory over Florida Top 25 team Jones (Orlando) in Week 4 … Apopka before last week was only averaging just a little over six points a game, but also managed to pitch three shutouts in the first four games … Edgewater is averaging 36 points per game while giving up just over 16.2 points per game … While the Eagles have not posted any player statistics so far through the first four games, the Eagles have looked solid, and their two losses are both to Florida Top 25 ranked teams … For Apopka expect a heavy ground game led by quarterback Tyson Davison who has rushed for 386 yards on 54 carries and two touchdowns … Davison has also thrown for 135 yards but has not thrown any touchdown passes this season … The Blue Darters as a team have rushed for 900 total yards and six touchdowns … Caleb Reed leads Apopka with 24 total tackles defensively while Trevon Williams leads the Blue Darters with five sacks.
Josh’s Pick: The Blue Darters will need to figure out their offensive woes against top-quality competition rather quickly as they already saw the abysmal offensive output cost them one game so far. This game could either be tight as previous games between the Apopka and Edgewater have been over the years, or this could get a little out of hand.
