The Southern Methodist University (SMU) in conjunction with the National College Football Awards Association released the Doak Walker Award watch list today as national trophy and awards watch lists continue to be released during the month of July. The Doak Walker Award is awarded annually to the best running back in collegiate football in the country.
The Doak Walker Award was first awarded in 1990 and is named after the storied running back who excelled at SMU during the late 1940’s, according to the Doak Walker Award website.
These seven Florida HS Football alumni made the watch list and should be commended for their efforts on the field and getting recognized for it.
