TOP 20 SPRING GAMES: 15. Union County at University Christian

WHO: Union County (1A-7) at University Christian (2A-2)
WHEN: Thursday, May 24
WHERE: University Christian Field, Jacksonville

WHY: There is a connection between these two teams that most from the 1990’s would understand. If you don’t here you go: Robbie Pruitt, former head coach of Union County, who won three straight titles in Class 3A between 1994 and 1996, use to be the head coach at University Christian before he went to Union County. Fast forward, Ronnie Pruitt, Robbie’s younger brother, is now leading the Tigers to wonderful things (no state titles…yet) and is going to take the Tigers on the road to face the Fighting Christians of University Christian in what should be a challenge for both teams. Both teams are facing the fact of having to replace key players at several key positions and this game will give a good barometer of who could plug in which holes come the fall. Overall, this game will be worth keeping an eye on as we head in to the summer.
