WHO: Miami Carol City (6A-16) at Blanche Ely (7A-14)
WHEN: Thursday, May 23
WHERE: Blanche Ely High, Pompano Beach
WHY: Miami Carol City was a team back on the rise again last season that came within inches of making the postseason, but none the less the momentum of the rise has the Chiefs looking forward to the 2013 season in which will be a competitive one. The biggest thing for the Chiefs will of course filling in any holes left open by graduation, but finding which talent will emerge to make things competitive considering that District 16-6A includes teams like Miami Northwestern, Miami Central, Homestead and Miami Northwestern. All five teams in District 16-6A are very much potential playoff teams. For Blanche Ely, the Tigers will be looking for a way to bounce back after missing the playoffs last season, but a test against the Chiefs will allow them to see what areas are looking good and what areas will need to be fixed. Right now, the Tigers have a strong shot to return the playoffs this season, but everything will start with this spring game.
