WHO: East Gadsden (4A-1), Madison County (4A-2) at Godby (5A-2)
WHEN: Friday, May 24
WHERE: Gene Cox Stadium, Tallahassee
WHY: There is nothing more to love than having three of Tallahassee best area teams come together to scrimmage for spring football. This is all considering that Madison County is coming off back-to-back appearances in the Class 3A state title game (now moving up to Class 4A) and Godby, is the defending Class 5A state champion and East Gadsden which has been successful the last few seasons including falling game short of the Class 4A title game in 2011. Put it all together and it is likely a scene for showdown that might make you think the regular season would be starting soon. The biggest thing to take from all of this is that East Gadsden will be adjusting to having a new head coach after Corey Fuller left to take an assistants job at Florida A&M, which will require the Jaguars to get use to some adjustments. For Madison County, the biggest thing will be to see what holes will need to be filled to make another run at a state championship game appearance especially in what is loaded Class 4A. For Godby, who won the state title by playing every playoff game on the road, will be looking to see how they can repeat that success again, but hopefully being able to win the district this time around this fall. Overall, this is the best bet for Spring Football in the Big Bend Area.
