DISTRICT 1A-1
In the Driver’s Seat: Baker, 1-0; Northview, 1-0
Still Alive: Freeport, 0-1; Jay 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Baker and Northview are pretty much the front runners here in this district with Baker being the best overall team. Freeport was a playoff team last year, but ever since the loss of their best overall player occurred before the season started, the team has fallen considerably. Jay right now is looking to be the darkhorse in the district right now.

In The Driver’s Seat: Vernon, 1-0
Still Alive: Cottondale, 2-1; Graceville, 1-1; Sneads, 1-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Wewahitchka, 0-2
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Vernon has become a quick shocker after beating Cottondale that seems to be running wild and looking to be the big district winner. At this point the district is wide open for anyone take, however if Wewahitchka wants to see any light of the postseason is going to need to win out its final two district games and hope for loses by any of the four other teams that could force a tie at 2-2.

In The Driver’s Seat: Blountstown, 2-0
Still Alive: South Walton, 1-1; Bozeman, 1-1; Chipley 0-1; Holmes County 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Blountstown has far become the leader in this district and has won in convincing fashion all six wins to date. South Walton and Bozeman are more alive right this second than Chipley and Holmes County, but once Week 8 gets here this picture will start to shake out even more.

In The Driver’s Seat: Liberty County, 2-0, Port St. Joe, 1-0
Still Alive: West Gadsden 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Franklin County, 0-2
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Liberty County has already been guranteed a playoff spot in Class 1A thanks to wins over West Gadsden and Franklin County. That makes the Port St. Joe the defacto title game in Week 10. West Gadsden could still pull off two wins over Port St. Joe and Franklin County over the next few weeks which could give them the runner-up spot. Franklin County pretty much needs a win against West Gadsden and then losses by Port St. Joe and West Gadsden that could force a tiebreaker shootout.

In The Driver’s Seat: Hamilton County, 1-0; Jefferson County, 1-0
Still Alive: Lafayette, 0-1; Branford, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Hamilton County has turned this district upside down with its upset win over Lafayette this past week and Jefferson County said not so fast to Branford. As such this district is pretty much in play for all the teams involved right now.

In The Driver’s Seat: Trenton, 1-0
Still Alive: Bell, 1-1; Hilliard, 1-1; Bronson, 0-1 and Hawthorne, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: This district is pretty much wide open with Trenton taking the lead, which is no surprise to us. However, the second team that could emerge is literally a toss up and things will start to shake out next week as to who is a playoff contender and who is not. Overall, though this district is much improved in terms of the wins-loss column compared to last season.

In The Driver’s Seat: Dixie County, 2-0; Chiefland,1-0
Still Alive: Newberry, 1-1; Union County, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Williston, 0-2
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Who would have guess that this district would be home to three of the best 1A teams in the state? Not many at the start of the season at least. Now things are starting to shake out some and it appears right now Dixie County and Chiefland are looking to be the teams to beat. Union County has a chance still, but must win out all remaining games in the district to make the playoffs as well as Newberry (only one would be successful if done). Williston is pretty much going to need wins over Chiefland and Union County to get a shot of forcing a possible tiebreaker.

In the Driver’s Seat: Crescent City, 1-0
Still Alive: Taylor (Pierson), 0-0; Wildwood 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None
Quick Analysis: Crescent City has been pretty much the strong weight of this district in terms of being competitve and staying in games week in and week out and has taken the wheel to win the district with only one district game left. Wildwood which won the district last year has been suffering greatly all season and Taylor (Pierson) finally picked up its first win, so the runner-up that comes from this district will likely be sporting a losing record with either one or two wins under their belt.
