Niceville is coming off the 2013 season as a state runner-up in Class 7A and will face a challenge right out of the game when it comes to the schedule.
One thing that works in favor for Niceville is that there is always talent surrounding the program and for head coach John Hicks, chasing down Niceville’s first state title since 1988 is still very much in reach.
Look for the Eagles to be a highly competitive team in the 2014 season.

THREE BEST OPPONENTS: Clay-Chalkville (AL), Navarre, Bolles
THREE WEAKEST OPPONENTS: Rutherford, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach
BEST OVERALL GAME: at Clay-Chalkville (AL), Saturday, August 23
Although this game is an out-of-state game for the Eagles, it is by far the best overall game on the schedule for this season. This game will provide a challenge and a win likely help Niceville cement a position in the national rankings early on. You can also same this game provides an improvement on the strength of schedule against out-of-state opponent compared to last year when it was Greene County, Miss. on the schedule.
DISTRICT TRAP GAME: vs. Tate, Friday, October 3
Tate showed us quickly how much they have improved last year and showed it again during the spring game against the Eagles. With that said Niceville will have to be ready for anything the Aggies throw at them this season, because they are hungry and they want the district title just as badly as they do.
WEAKEST GAME: Rutherford, Friday, August 29
Rutheford has been struggling for a while as a program and although they have a new head coach, we do not expect things to make a 100 percent turnaround quickly. In saying that, this game is by far the weakest on the schedule and it could likely be another big point differential like it was last season. You can circle this game likely being over at half time.
