Early on West Florida will be a battle tested squad as they line up with a tough slate to start the season. Within the first four weeks of the schedule, they will be hosting Escambia, Tate and Mosley as well as a road trip out-of-state to Cairo, GA. All four teams made the playoffs last season and they are certainly will be considered teams that could reach the playoffs again this season. As such Mosley will be the toughest of the four district games the Jaguars must play and if they win that game, then another district championship could be in the cards.

Team Outlook
According to Coach Lees, the Jaguars will return eight starters overall on defense and he expects them to be the leaders this season. The offense however is only returning four starters. As such the Jaguars will have more fresh faces on the offensive line than veterans as they replace four starters for this season. This will require the new starters to grow up quickly within the first four weeks of the season. Coach Lees does think his team’s schedule tough along with the new district and should make the season challenging for his Jaguars squad.
Rivalries
West Florida has recently over the last few years have developed a rivalry with Pensacola Catholic and it should be no surprise that this rivalry has been fast rising. Over the last two years, the rivalry has either made or break the teams in regards to district championships or even reaching the playoffs. While the rivalry won’t have those kind of implications for at least the next four seasons as both teams are in different districts and classes now, the teams will leave it all on the field to try to claim they are on of the best in the Pensacola-area.
