National Rankings Roundup: Plantation American Heritage makes moves in two polls; IMG falls

Although most Florida teams have not played a regular season game yet, other states around the nation have and that means the national rankings are already getting updates.

Here is this week’s National Rankings Roundup:

USA TODAY SUPER 25

In the USA TODAY Super 25, complied by Jim Halley, saw a shift after IMG Academy took a hit with a preseason loss to Plantation American Heritage. As such Plantation American Heritage has made a jump into the Super 25 while IMG Academy fell 20 spots from its initial preseason ranking of No. 2.

HSFB 100

The High School Football 100, compiled by NationalHSFootball.com’s Dallas Jackson, saw some slight shifts as well as a result of IMG’s loss to Plantation American Heritage and a few other factors from around the country. Apopka joins in the HSFB as ranked team this week and was likely a result of the Blue Darters thrashing 35-14 thrashing of Class 7A Columbia in Lake City.

MAXPREPS XCELLENT 25

The fall out from IMG’s loss continues with MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings as the Ascenders took a big hit, falling from No. 7 to No. 25. The reward for Plantation American Heritage is nowhere to be found as no teams in the Xcellent 25 dropped out this week. However, St. Thomas Aquinas did see its placement in the rankings jump eight spots from the preseason.
