District projections for Class 4A – Regions I & II for the 2015 season.
REGION I
District 4A-1
1. Walton
2. Marianna
3. East Gadsden
4. Rutherford
Comment: Florida High is gone from this district, leaving Walton as the best team in the district and they will have a lot of skill players back that should help them dominate the district. Looking at the other three teams, we feel Marianna has an edge to making the playoffs this year while East Gadsden and Rutherford are still in rebuilding modes.
District 4A-2
1. Bolles
2. Raines
3. West Nassau
4. Andrew Jackson
5. Fernandina Beach
Comment: It will come down to Bolles and Raines in the district once again, but we believe that Bolles will in the district at this point. West Nassau could put up a fight, but an upset over Raines would help them reach the playoffs. Andrew Jackson and Fernandina Beach will round out the back end of the district as both teams introduce new head coaches this season.
REGION II
District 4A-3
1. Santa Fe (Alachua)
2. P.K. Yonge
3. Bradford
4. Keystone Heights
5. Interlachen
Comment:Santa Fe is by far the best team within the district and has the talent to have a great season. P.K. Yonge and Bradford are likely to battle it out for the runner-up spot, but feel it could be a big year for P.K. Yonge. Keystone Heights, might still find it a struggle to compete in the district while Interlachen introduces a new head coach and will need to make changes before we can consider the Rams an actual playoff contender.
District 4A-4
1. South Sumter
2. Mount Dora
3. Dunnellon
4. The Villages
5. Umatilla
Comment: Umatilla was a winner of this district last year, but that is not going to happen again this year with South Sumter, Mount Dora and Dunnellon all dropping down from Class 5A. South Sumter will be a younger team this year, but we certainly see them winning the district with Mount Dora not far behind. However, we can’t count out Dunnellon in the race for a playoff spot as they usually field strong teams. For both The Villages and Umatilla, they will find it hard to reach the playoffs this year after reaching them last year.
