Below the Top 10 are the regional rankings for Class 6A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.
Class 6A Top 10
1. Mainland, 1-0, 2
Comment; Flew past 8A DeLand to start off season on a high note. Jumps up to No. 1 after Miami Central’s poor showing against DeMatha.
2. Miami Central, 0-1, 1
Comment: Had a poor showing against DeMatha Catholic, MD but will get a chance to rebound against 8A Miami Killian this week.
3. Armwood, 1-0, 3
Comment: Hawks easily knocked out 7A Plant City to earn first win of the season.
4. Niceville, 1-0, 1
Comment: Defeated 7A Lincoln with powerful running game.
5. Heritage, 1-0, 7
Comment: Took care of business against 5A Merritt Island to start of the season on the right note.
6. Naples, 0-1, 5
Comment: Lost to a tough 3A Delray American Heritage team at home to open the season.
7. Navarre, 2-0, 9
Comment: Has started the season strong by a scoring at least 40 points in their first two games behind a strong rushing attack from Michael Carter.
8. Escambia, 1-0, 8
Comment: Pulled out a tough win over rival 5A West Florida to start the season.
9. St. Augustine, 1-0, 10
Comment: Easily defeated 5A Baker County to start of the season.
10. Tate, 1-0, NR
Comment: Strong start by easily defeating Biloxi, MS behind some strong talent.
Dropped Out: Lake Gibson, 0-1, 6 – Lost to an un-ranked 7A Kathleen team that showed that Lake Gibson can’t play a full four quarters, even with the talent they have. Will have to re-earn ranking with strong wins over the next few weeks.
